Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah, a lecturer of the Central University, has called on the government to take Ghana's tourism seriously.
He reminded the President of the huge benefits of tourism to the country stressing "tourism is one of the greatest avenues to generate revenues for the country".
He appealed to President Nana Akufo-Addo and the tourism authorities to revitalize the country's tourism sector to attract many tourists into the country.
He was commenting on the President's State of the Nation Address on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.
Dr. Benjamin urged the President to well-resource and equip the tourism sector of the economy.
"Let's maintain it well, the washrooms and do proper roads leading to the tourist sites. Let's be serious with our maintenance culture. We should do proper marketing of the country to attract foreigners because if every year, many people come into the country because of tourism and they bring their dollars, it will help strengthen our currency," he said on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo".
