A Ghanaian local publishing house, Badu Nkansah Limited says after recalling all copies of the controversial textbooks for primary school children from the market, it intends to set them ablaze without further ado.
Titled history of Ghana which appears to denigrate Ewes in the country.
Spokesperson, Mark Osei has apologized for its ‘offensive description’ of Ewes in the publication and maintained that “we sincerely regret this which won’t happen again,” in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.
According to him, although the book had satisfied most of the technical content requirements, the National Council for Curriculum Assessment (NaCCA) had informed them to work on certain aspects of the book in order for it to meet the expectations of the new curriculum.
The 'History of Ghana Textbook 3' raised concerns in the public domain after the author used some offensive words to describe Ewes as ‘Juju loving’ people among others.
The said publication also features a song that shows the Ewes identity by making inappropriate references which are deemed unfortunate and in contradiction with NaCCA's Book Submission Guidelines and Approval Methodology which guide the work of publishers and authors.
The public took umbrage against the book in circulation which the Publisher admits "have not yet met the final approvement threshold.”
Mark Osei revealed copies of the book was leaked but assured all will be done to retrieve and burn soon.
“It’s unfortunate, all we will say is sorry but I can assure you that we will retrieve all and burn them in the public,” he told host Kwesi Aboagye.

***barred word***... who authorizes and brought the script before it was printed out or publish.
Koo, I perfectly agree with you. It is a "hidden secret" and even some ewes in the Akan communities boast of and intimate others with but since the author has made it public and in written form people will definitely speak against. I think if all other contents are good except this minor incident then they should just remove that portion from the books rather than to burn all copies already produced with such huge investment. Let us not kill peoples initiatives and dumb their spirit with petty mistakes which are almost factual with everybody. Badu kobi spoke unpalatable things about women in certain tribes in Ghana especially the Ashantis but he walks freely and his church was not closed or burnt so let all exercise restrain and encourage the author to continue but take away portions which may not go down were with others
It it hypocritical on our side as Ghanaians to fight a factual publication. it is a fact the people of this tribe pride themselves with the black power they have and threaten people with it all the time. This publication is to just affirm the long held tittle of the tribe and to also project their achievement to the world and our generations so that they will be known and acknowledged by all. The hypocrisy is too much in this country. Lets be truthful for once.
