The Ministry of National Security has reacted to an assault allegation made by Citi FM journalist Caleb Kudah.
Caleb was picked up by National Security Operatives on Tuesday for filming within their premises. Recounting his experience after his release, the Citi FM journalist said: “All the police officers there became agitated and aggressive towards me, so they took me to a smaller office and I showed them my ID and told them that I am from Citi FM. I agree I shouldn’t have taken the photo, let’s delete it and please let me go, but they wouldn’t.
“They slapped me from the back. These are police officers, men in uniform. Some were bearded and had guns...They were still beating me, slapping me from the back. I will be talking to another one and someone will come and slap me from the back and you feel dizzy at once. At this point, they had handcuffed me and every now and again, one will come and press it harder so that I feel the pain.
“Along the line, a man identified as Agyeman came in and I tried to talk to him, and immediately, he asked me to kneel down and he kicked me in the groin. I tried to plead with him that Sir they have beaten me enough. I beg you please let me go because he told me to kneel down, he kicked me in the groin”.
Reacting to this, the National Security Ministry said it takes the allegation seriously and that an investigation has been initiated.
"The Ministry, therefore, takes with all seriousness, the allegations of manhandling of the two journalists during the interrogation. The Ministry has therefore initiated investigations into the said allegations.
The Ministry of National Security wishes to assure the public that appropriate actions shall be taken if the allegations are found to be true" a statement released Thursday indicated.

Our three hands of government are not independent .I hope the judicial will be independent one day .I hope the top judges will come together one vote for one to be chief justice and be commissioned by the President . So must parliament choose speaker without the interference by the President .All this is happening because people wants to impress somebody in authority .This is left for the President to prove other wise that he believes in doing right thing .With this kind he should allow investigate and if true than he apply sanctions .May be six month suspension without pay for other to do the right thing . I respect former President Kufuor ,when dr ASEM FOFRO spoke against him he made sure the man was protected .I love this man .
