The Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Thursday, November 11, 2021, lead a delegation from his family to the Manhyia Palace to thank the overlord of the Asante Kingdom for the generosity Otumfuo Osei Tutu II showed him during his mother's demise.
The vice president leading a family delegation to the Manhyia Palace said he was overwhelmed when a delegation from the palace was sent to Mamprugu to witness the final funeral rites of the late Hajia Mariama Bawumia, his mother.
“We came showing gratitude in our fathers' house and I can’t thank you enough for what you did during my mother’s demise, we are all grateful for what you did, the whole of Mamprugu."
He said Otumfuo’s actions indicate his commitment to unity and his family as a whole and Mamprugu is appreciative of that.
He says now, he has no mother and father and that Otumfuo has indeed shown that he is a father to all.
“You really were involved in the funeral, you showed I’m your son, now I have no mother or father, you are my everything that is why we are here today to show our utmost appreciation.”
Dr. Bawumia was at the palace with his family and some executives of the governing New Patriotic Party

The NPP has the best chance to set the 16 - year term if it's able to present Bawumia/Alan team. The two are hardworking, competent and with their modernity and innovative drive they can put Ghana on the right path to development. NDC had never been a match for the NPP in terms of competence, governance, leadership and development.
My eyes are filled with tears forthe words of Dr. Bawumia to Otumfuor. I belive that Otumfuor will never refuse to take him as son. Bawumia, you are no longer an orphan. Otumfuor will include you among his children across the lengh and breath of the nation. Bawumia is a humble and a smart politician. He speaks to the hearts of people. He has matured very fast politically and he is a great force to reckon in our contemporary Ghana politics. There are many good competetors to him in his party but he stands tall above all. It is a fact that a good number of people are rooting for Alan than any of the other candidates. If NPP can work out to avoid any antagonistic contest and forge a deal with Alan and Bawumia camps it will become a blessing to the nation. Ghana needs the two for the continuing formidable transformation of the nation by Nana Addo. Bawumia has been an outstanding VP and no minister of Trade and Industry in Ghana history has ever done a quarter of what Alan has achieved in that sector. Bawumia and Alan have are critical part of Nana Addo's government. They are both refined and hard working. Bawumia has become an astute political activist. His digitization policies constitute a bedrock in the fight against corruption to advance Ghana economic transformation. Alan has become a successful negotiator and manager for the establishment of the local and foreign industries to create more jobs for a better future of the nation. We need the two to run the nation after Nana. Alan is older but Bawumia is the VP. It is politically more correct to run Bawumia as candidate and Alan as the running mate.. POP
@Fii and “selective justice”. It’s okay when president Mahama said to the chiefs in the Volta Region that “you should take me as your son”. They are politicians. Bawumia knows how critical the voters of the Ashanti Region can help him achieve his dream of becoming the president of Ghana. Without the votes from the Ashanti Region delegates he will still win the npp primaries but a huge turnout in the General Election from strongholds are very critical. Of course decent politician like Dr Bawumia can be at times a bit mischievou&s.
If otumfour is your everything, then Alan kyeremanteng is what otumfour? You've lied and faked from since you aligned with nana.
