"I'm not still sure whether she (Aisha Huang) was in fact deported or whether she fled the country the first time, and has now come back", President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said.
In a radio interview with Stone City in the Volta Region on Monday (September 12, 2022), President Akufo-Addo said, "...but whatever, there still seem to be some uncertainty about it, but whichever way it is, she has become some sort of nickname for all that galamsey represents and unfortunately, for the involvement of Chinese nationals in Ghana."

Subsequently, she was deported to her home country, China in December 2018.
It has just emerged in the last two weeks that, she is back in Ghana and has again been arrested for engaging in illegal mining.
She has been arraigned at an Accra Circuit Court with some other accomplices and has been remanded in police custody.
The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice has called for the docket and promised to prosecute her for the first offences prior to 2018 in addition to the new one.

Ahhh, Akuffo Addo paaaa nie, a president who is on top of issues should have known that the trending news in Ghana today is Aisha Huang and in granting interviews he should have known that a likely question on this lady will come up thus the need for him to have asked the interior minister to give him a detailed briefing about Aisha Huang. Even a JHS 3 student going for an interview on current affairs would have expected a question about Aisha Huang. The answers provided by the president is a clear indication that he is not on top of issues. Any attempt to defend him on this particular issue will be a mere window dressing. At times one wonders whether the Akuffo Addo we heard of is same person we are now seeing as the president. Simple simple questions he's always struggling to answer. If you are going for an interview you should also arm yourself with some information. Under normal circumstances it's when a subordinate goofs that the boss comes in to set records straight. For the information minister to now come to explain what his boss meant by saying his response was a figure of speech is laughable . It's like Akuffo Addo doesn't come anywhere near where we thought him to be. His everyday errors are too too P-one-nic. So for all these weeks Aisha Huang has been trending, you don't know what is happening in both social and mainstream media. I now understand why everyone sees everything wrong with his appointees except he the president. When the whole of Ghana is going right, the president goes to the left, interesting. It's not normal, definitely not normal.
