The prayers of the family of then-bedridden businessman Asuma Banda to have former president John Dramani Mahama and the National Chief Imam intervene in the impasse between the various factions in the family appears to have been answered as both personalities have so far visited Alhaji Asuma Banda.
Shortly after pictures surfaced of John Mahama sharing some moments with Alhaji Banda, a video of the National Chief Imam and some leadership of the Muslim community holding prayers for the business mogul has been circulating on social media.
The video which per GhanaWeb checks was taken at one of the residences of Alhaji Asuma Banda has the Chief Iman leading prayers for him.
The visit by the Chief Imam and his entourage follows an interview granted Rainbowradio by sisters of the former Chief Executive Officer of Antrak Air for him to intervene in the issue.
The sisters on December 7, 2022, told Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that they were seeking the intervention of the president, the office of the former president and the Chief Imam to resolve custody issues around their brother.
”We know the court has ruled in favor of the second wife. But he is our beloved family member. We acknowledge what his two wives have done for him. We will not be ungrateful to them.
"But our brother has requested to go to Kintampo. And so we are appealing to the president to intervene,” they said in apparent reference to the second wife's reluctance to allow him to be moved.
They revealed that except for Tuesday, December 6, 2022, we have not seen our brother in the past five years, the Rainbow Radio report added.
”We are still appealing to friends, the business community, and all those who know our brother to intervene. The court has ruled, but we are interested in making our brother better.
"John Mahama knows my brother so well. Nana Addo was his good friend. I am also appealing to Frema Opare to intervene. The two wives are tired, and we want to take over as his sisters,” Hajia Shatta said.

We wish Alhaji Asumah Banda well. However i thought as a born and bread Moslem he should have gone in for Moslem ladies if not all at least one of his wives should have been an original Moslem from birth. Casandra and Edwina fighting over your properties by your hospital bed even before your death is definitely not a teaching of Islam. Any Moslem woman who was brought forth by Moslem parents will be interested in her husband's welfare first and foremost not his properties . This is a big lesson for the up and coming young men, especially those from northern Ghana leaving outside their home regions, please by all means marry from your tribe or at worse a lady from any ethnic group within your region, even if she manages in swindling you of your properties at least your region can will still be closer to home since their mother is from the same region as their father. From every indication the 2 wives are only interested in Alhaji's properties not himself. Bet me the children of Alhaji may never visit their ancestral home if he passes on, for all you know they don't even know his close relatives. I don't know the problem with northern Moslem men from northern Ghana. Immediately Allah bless them small they start looking for women who are wiser and smarter than them. The saying that it's much easier trying to save your brother from the jaws of a lion than from the hands of a woman is very true. The young northern business men especially those in Accra should learn lessons from Alhaji's current predicament. The two wives don't love the old man, they love his money. For all the years he toiled to build his empire see what small girls are doing to him. @ 89 his two wives can be said to be small girls. The Edwina girl who was allegedly converted to Islam we are told has gone back to her she belongs i.e. Her church, what does that tell you. Don't be surprise if she gives here children some other names other than Moslem names if Alhaji passes on. So did Alhaji go or did he come. FEAR WOMAN.
