The Eastern Regional Director of the Ghana Metrological Agency, Mr Sylvester K. Xatse, has assured farmers in the area of better rainfall distribution this month.
He explained that often rainstorms experienced in the region during the minor season occurred during the month of October and were well distributed in the area.
Mr Xatse was reacting to complain by some farmers at Kwamoso, a farming community in the Akuapem North District, of the lack of rains in some parts of the district.
He explained that the deficiency of rains in some parts of the region during the lean season was not unusual.
Mr Xatse assured the people that the current poor rainfall pattern in parts of the region was not likely to cause food deficiency.
He said though there were no rains in some parts of New Juaben Municipal Area, parts of Akuapem North and other districts in the region were receiving substantial rainfalls.
