Reports reaching Peacefmonline.com say fire has gutted three offices serving as the store house for the Ministry of Information.
Though details are sketchy, witnesses say the blaze started a few minutes before 2pm.
Peacefms Yaw Obeng-Manu who is at the scene reports that personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service broke down the windows of the office in order to gain access and put out the fire.
According to him, some paraphernalia meant for Ghana's 53rd Independence Day celebrations, next month (March 6), including flags and portraits of His Excellency, President John Evans Atta Mills, have been destroyed by the fire.
This is the second time in less than a year that the Information Ministry has been hit by a fire outbreak.
The actual cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
