The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) says it will intensify its construction audits on all building in the Metropolis.
According to the Mayor, Alfred Vanderpuijie, buildings suspected to have structural or documentation problems will be pulled down.
This follows the collapse of a six-storey hotel building under construction at Nii Boi town in Accra which killed one person and injured another.
Speaking to Citi News, Mr. Vanderpuijie indicated that the AMAs team of engineers and building inspectors are always on the field to inspect questionable integrity.
He said his outfit has doubled its efforts to checking unauthorized structures because of the level of indiscipline that has been experienced in this city over the years.
This Mr. Vanderpuije said is aimed at making sure that we curtail and eliminate all of these situations.
