A 30-year-old bar operator resident at Ahinsan in the Kumasi Metropolis, Mr Kofi Adu, is in the grips of the police for allegedly lacing a locally made toffee with cannabis.
The suspect was arrested while in the process of preparing the toffees popularly known as �condensed milk� toffee with the dried leaves suspected to be cannabis in his bar at Ahinsan.
Briefing the press, the Ashanti Regional Commander of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Kofi Boakye said on September 29, this year, the police had information that the suspect was making toffees laced with cannabis to be sold to the public.
He said at around 7 p.m., personnel from the Drug Law enforcement Unit were dispatched to his house and arrested him in the process of making the toffees.
He said a total of 188 pieces of the toffees were retrieved from him.
According to the police, Mr Adu was alleged to have admitted lacing the toffees with cannabis for sale in his caution statement.
