Three passengers in a taxi cab travelling from Frankadua in the Eastern Region towards Juapong in the Volta were on Wednesday [November 2] burnt to death at Nudu in the Volta Region.
The fire started when the Cab in which they were travelling ran over a ramp.
According to the police in the area, the driver of the cab sustained serious burns before he escaped. He was subsequently rushed to hospital for treatment.
Three persons who occupied the back seat could however not escape and were therefore trapped to burnt to death.
There was no fire tender immediately available to quench the first as people in the area looked on helplessly. The names of the victims were not readily available at the time of filing the report.
