Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Ken Yeboah, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, has warned against the growing misuse of DV and DP number plates by unregistered car owners.
He vowed that the police would act decisively to stop this to bring down crime in the region.
He told a media briefing in Kumasi that criminals had increasingly been snatching these unregistered vehicles to engage in robbery and other criminal activities.
DCOP Yeboah said they would easily replace the number plates, making it difficult to arrest them.
He added that they were also going to get tough with unregistered motorbike riders.
The Regional Commander said anybody caught using DV or DP number plates without authorization or an unregistered motorbike would be arrested and prosecuted.

What kind of Authorization is the police talking about? They need Technology to combat crime not banning use of DV plates.
