Police in the Western Region have dismissed reports that the convoy of Presidential candidate for the People�s National Convention, (PNC) Hassan Ayariga was attacked on Friday at Juaboso in the region.
According to the Police, the convoy of Mr. Ayariga was returning from a rally at Asukwanta when they met an armed robbery attack on the road but the Police rushed to the scene.
In an interview with Citi News, the Sehwi-Wiaso Divisional Police Commander, ACP Charles Oduro-Botchwey explained that �nothing happened to the presidential convoy. They happened to be there at that particular moment. The Police also had the information and met them at the spot but the armed robbers fled to the bush.�
He however mentioned that the driver whose car was stopped by the robbers sustained gun shots wounds on his arm and �was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Hospital in Kumasi.�
