President John Mahama will leave Accra on Monday September 9 to Cotonou, Benin.
The two day visit is at the invitation of Beninoi President Yayi Boni.
The invitation by President Dr. Yayi is to enable the two discuss various issues including the security situation on the continent, economic integration of the West African subregion and how to give a new impetus to their bilateral cooperation.
In a letter dated September 03, 2013 inviting President Mahama for a State Visit, the Beninios President congratulated him for his confirmation of what he described as a "brilliant victory by the Supreme Court as President of your beautiful and great country."
The two leaders have, over the last one year, strengthened the existing relationship between their two countries.
While on his way to Cotonou, Benin, President Mahama will make a stopover in Lome, Togo to confer with President Faure Gnassigbe.
Mr. Mahama is expected back on Tuesday September 10, 2013.
