In an interview published in the current issue of the 'Africa Watch Magazine,' Nana Akufo-Addo, was asked οΏ½ οΏ½you have run for president twice and lost on both occasions. What makes you think that you will be successful in 2016 if you win the NPP presidential nomination?οΏ½
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2008 and 2012 flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, has this answer, οΏ½there is nothing that shows I will not be successful because this is my third attempt. Indeed, history is replete with several instances where people made several attempts at their countryοΏ½s presidency or other positions in life.οΏ½
The 11-pages of interview covered a wide range of topics, another being why Nana Akufo-Addo was not quitting after two defeats.
This is NanaοΏ½s answer: οΏ½The great Winston Churchill said: οΏ½Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.οΏ½ There are several examples of leaders who tripped but kept going and won. Abraham Lincoln, K.A. Busia, Francois Mitterrand, J.A. Kufuor, Mwai Kibaki, Abdoulaye Wade, John Atta-Mills and leaders who lost more than once before finally winning. I do not consider myself, the NPP or Ghana to be a stranger in this area.οΏ½
