Failed New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer-contender, Stephen Asamoah Boateng during the partys Super Delegates Congress to reduce the number of aspirants seeking to lead the party in the 2016 presidential elections from seven to five strategized to decoy delegates with a nicely designed take-away food pack embossed with his picture containing food.
Even though Asamoah Boateng was very optimistic of his inclusion in the final five [5] to battle for the main NPP flagbearer position on October 18 when he spoke with Peacefmonlone.comin an interview, he attempted to poll some votes with his face embellish "take-away food pack" filled with jollof rice and chicken knowing very well delegates needed to be fed.
Vote No. 2 Asamoah Boateng the message on the packed food was overlooked by almost all the delegates who tasted Asabees Fast Food.
The former Mfantseman West Parliamentarian also known as Asabee after feeding delegates managed to poll only 13 votes across the country, representing 1.76% of the total vote cast which automatically exempted his ambition of nursing a presidential dream.
Some delegates, in an interview with Daily Guide newspaper said; although Asabee is a good fellow [but] it is not his time to lead the party and he needs more training and preparation for the future.
This is the time of Nana Addo and all should rally behind him in the upcoming delegates congress on 18th October, they opined.
Recalling his presidential get-up-and-go, Asabee had cast himself as the biblical David ready to slug it out with Goliath [Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo].
Picking up nomination forms, the NPPs self-acclaimed David outlined three challenges David faced in pulling off a life-changing victory over the nine-foot giant.
He said David faced the condescending stares of his elder brothers, the skepticism of King Saul and who thought David was a joke but the joke turned on Goliath himself.
However, in this case the joke is rather on David Stephen Asamoah Boateng who has been neglected by his own admirers.
