The flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP], Nan Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has welcomed on board new parliamentary candidate Kojo Oppong Nkrumah to the NPP.
Ace broadcaster Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has won the Ofoase-Ayirebi primary to contest on the ticket of the NPP in the 2016 elections.
The ace brodcast journalist polled an overwhelming 218 votes to beat his closest competitor John Obiri Yeboah who polled 114. The third aspiring candidate Bright Asamoah Acquah polled a paltry 58.
Nana Addo, who seems thrilled with Kojo Oppongs’s victory, took to his twitter handle to congratulate the broadcaster cum politician.
“Congratulations @konkrumah! Welcome on board. #NPPPrimaries” he twittered.
Mr. Oppong Nkrumah, before he contested the seat, said his belief in the NPP liberal democratic ideology pushed him to the party.
He noted that Ghana’s current situation needs a party with forward-looking ideals and principles to take the country out of its challenges – the same ideology Nana Addo shares.
