Bernard Antwi Boasiako, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has asserted that Nana Akufo-Addo will win at least 90 per cent of votes to be cast in the Ashanti Region in the 7 December polls.
The opposition party’s share of votes in the region, the party’s stronghold since Ghana’s return to multi-party democracy in 1993, has tumbled from 78 per cent since 2008 to 70 per cent in the last elections in 2012.
But Mr Antwi Boasiako, more popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, was adamant the NPP would meet the electoral target despite a dip in fortunes in the last eight years, saying God did not propel him to his current position as regional party chair only to “disgrace” him.
“So, God is going to give this Ashanti vote to me. So, 90 per cent, they cannot negotiate with me. …Yes, 90 per cent for Nana Akufo-Addo,” he told Paul Adom-Otchere on Good Evening Ghana on October 4, 2016.
Chairman Wontumi, who referred to himself as the “Regional Governor”, vowed that the NPP would annex the four parliamentary seats in the Ashanti Region which are currently occupied by NDC MPs.
He spoke his own version of the English language during the interview with Paul Adom Otchere.

With all your two known.... you are not well educated..
Chairman Wontumi was speaking Kotongoli, what is English?
What has thos so called good English speakers done in their lives even before we voted for them. Please go and check. They only speak the good English to get our votes and then they become lords over us. Name one NDC appointee who is same age (39 years) and was as successful as WONTUMI is before that fellow came into government. A person who has failed in the manager of his personal live can never lead anyone to posterity. No wonder Ghanaians are suffering. We have a leader who has a loving, beautiful and a caring wife and yet he is so much indiscipline that he can't keep his zeep closed. Gathering children left, right, center and we expect him to give us any better. The man wontumin doesnt speak the queen's enlist well but he has achieved success in his private life. I believe such a man and will follow what he says than to listen to those who only became "somebody" after coming into power. It's our money that has made them...as for that one every "***barred word***"can do.
You can hate all you want the man spoke eloquently than I expected. What's understood doesn't need to be explained again ampa more grease to you chairman go higher.
ALL U GUYS TALKING ABT WONTUMIS ENGLISH SHUD EVEN CHECK UR GRAMMER......WHACK....PRETENDING TO KNOW BETTER INDEED..
This man is a violent thug...plain and simple

NO WOUNDER, NPP HAS NO MESSAGE AT ALL, WHAT DID KOUFOUR DO ABOUT THE KUMASI AIR PORT WHEN HE WAS IN POWER, SHAME ON NPP OOOO, THEY CAN NEVER COME TO POWER AT ALL.
Self acclaimed governor of Kumasi beating about the ***barred word*** and throwing queen Elizabeth language left right like a champion in village. Only NPP supporters understand his language! and what he meant. It is not by force for you to have opt to speak the English language that you really can't express yourself in... Even a white man who learned Ashanti speaks it better than the kind of English language this self imposed governor of Kumasi has done. And these are the people Nana is parading as governors?
