The Electoral Commission of Ghana has disqualified thirteen presidential aspirants from contesting the 2016 elections.
Akwasi Addae Odike; United Progressive Party (UPP), Hassan Ayariga; All People's Congress (APC), Edward Mahama; People's National Convention (PNC), Agyenim Boateng Kakraba and Kofi Apaloo; Independent People's Party (IPP) have been disqualified.
Others are Ward Brew; Democratic People's Party (DPP), Akua Donkor; Ghana Freedom Party(GFP), Henry Lartey; Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Richard Tetteh, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings; National Democratic Party (NDP), Paa Kwesi Nduom of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Kwame Asiedu Walker and Kwabena Adjei have also been disqualified.
According to Charlotte Osei, Chairperson of the EC, the Presidential candidates did not meet the criteria for filing as president.
This means only four candidates will be contesting this year's election: Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ivor Greenstreet of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) and Independent Candidate and Jacob Osei Yeboah.

Aye asem ooo.. Everyone will see hw corrupt De NDC and dE E. C is Aaah.. .God is watching all ur schemes 2 right dis election.. Nana beba
The balkanisation of the Volta region votes has failed. The greatest loser of this disqualification is the NPP.
NPP this is trick from the NDC and the EC. NDC wanted Nana Konadu out at all cost. They didn't want her to take votes from Mahama. They added the others to show that they were being fair. Don't this EC woman she is doing the bidding of the NDC.
If a Political Party cannot take its time to fill simple forms, then how can they lead Mother Ghana? I trust u Madam Chair of EC. Let them go and clean their houses well and return in 2020 by which time JM would have been handing over to his successor, Dr. Spio-Garbrah I hope! #JM TOASO, #JM TANCHISO!
all is calculated to favour ndc. npp 'shine your eye'
Observers are Worried. 3bubo ba.
NDC is behind all but they will never succed
The real incompetent presidential candidates and parties there for you. They talk big but cannot complete simple forms. NPP took the EC to court for pink sheets which were not signed and you expect the EC to accept forms which were not signed. How on earth? Given the 2012 court case, the parties should have exercised a bit more care in completing their forms. Our democracy is growing and refining its self. The late Kofi Diaw of Planning Department once wrote about the beauty of the self refining process of democracy and it has been so real in the 4th republic. We must all work towards perfection if we demand it. But for sure, more bitter truths are going to unfold in the 2016 elections if the EC begins to reject thousands of votes on wrongly completed pink sheets. Ghanaians must gear up for that. The future has a lot in store.
this is grand scream to get Kunadu out of the race cos of the Volta vote she will get. ndoun and rest are just to cover up her corrupt deeds. but still Nana b3ba
Our comedian status as a country confirmed. Has NPP submitted its audited accounts to the EC? I need an urgent answer, Madam Charlotte.
