The Electoral Commission has hinted over 15 million people are eligible to vote come December 7, 2016.
The chairperson of the Electoral Management Body Mrs. Charlotte Osei has also served notice the final register of voters will be made available to all political parties by close of October.
According to her, no polling station would have over 850 voters in this year’s elections, adding this will help ease pressure on the verification and vote counting machines.
“The political parties by Friday will get a list of all the polling stations,” Mrs. Osei stated when she addressed the second general meeting of the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs in Kumasi on Wednesday.
“All of them (political parties) who have brought their hard drives will have a list of the final voters’ register”.
She added: “The register has now been finalised; we have implemented all the decisions and we are in a good place and, so, they (political parties) will have the register at the end of this week. We will probably have an approximately 15,800,000 names thereabout on the register going into the elections.”
Three political parties are contesting the presidential race – National Democratic Congress (NDC), New Patriotic Party (NPP), Convention People’s Party (CPP) and an independent candidate Joseph Osei Yeboah.
The polls come off December 7.

The focus should be on the campaign. We should embark on door to door campaign. In 2012,the register was said to be bloated, but out of the 14m, only 11m voted. What happened to the 3m who didn't vote?
There is something fundamentally wrong with this register. It is over bloated by about 1 million votes. A country with a population of about 26 million shouldn't have this voter number. This woman wants to rig the election for JM. I am sure they have kept some of the Biometric machines some where and their cronies are adding to the existing numbers.
NDC IS BEST KNOWN FOR USING GHANAIAN MONEY, CARS, HOUSES TO BUY THE CONCIENCE OF PEOPLE IN HIGH OFFICE SO THAT THEY CAN WIN. THEY HAVE USED MONEY AND HOUSES TO INFLUENCE THE DIRECTORS IN THE EC OFFICE. THEY WILL BE PUSHING EC TO DO WHAT THEY WANT. SO EC IS JOKING. EC BOSS WILL BE SURPRISE TO HEAR THE BALLOT PAPERS DESIGNS AND PINK SHEET DESIGNS HAVE ALREADY LEAKED TO NDC TO MAKE THEIR COPIES WHICH THEY WILL USE TO RIG THE ELECTION. EC BOSS SHOULD TELL US WHAT SHE WILL DO TO ENSURE THE SECURITY OF THE BALLOT PAPERS AND PINK SHEETS. THIS IS HOW NDC COULD PLAY MISCHIEFS
Charlotte osei Wo tw3 baggy Wai....ab@oo
This is not a credible register. How can a country of about 26Mil people have a register of 15.8mil? The register is bloated.... This means people below the voting age and all other foreigners living in Ghana constitute the rest of the population. This is not logical.... And EC chair is concerned about changing logo?
