NDC Member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central, Theophilus Tetteh Chaie has admonished his fellow politicians not to incite their supporters to crowd polling stations during the general elections.
According to him, supporters lurking around the polling stations after voting for their various candidates in the Parliamentary and Presidential elections could breed chaos and destroy the country's peace.
Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Hon. Tetteh Chaie was particularly concerned about this trend because in his view, there could be congestion at the polling stations if all the electorates are to lie in wait at the stations while voting ongoing.
He advised that the best approach is for the electorates to return home and come back to the polling stations when it's time for the counting of the ballot papers.
“We’re going to create a chaotic situation and that will not end us well as a nation. So, I plead with the various political parties to refrain from making such statements. It won’t help the elections to be peaceful,” he said.
Also addressing the issue on 'Kokrokoo', the Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. called for transparency and fairness in the elections.
He urged the electorates to ensure peace in the elections.

no one is inciting anyone we have decided to protect our votes and we will not stand within the voting parameter but at a distance to monitor everything.mr PM
What Tetteh Chaie's problem. NO ONE has said the polling station where the election should be manned. NO ONE has said so. But what the NPP are saying is that they will encourage their members to stay close to the POLLING STATIONS across the country when the finish voting. I don't belief the NPP is so dump to entreat its supporters to stay within the voting perimeter. No one has said so. SO please get it once into your brains and let it be settle. IF the NDC wants its members to stay close when the vote to ensure that there are no ballot box swap and other irregularities, the NDC are welcome.2012 will be allowed to be repeated in 2016.
NPP Should use innovative methods to win or make serious inroads into the NDC votes in the 3 key regions ; Northern, Upper West/East and Volta region. NPP should come upwith money to pay or promise each district in those region 30000GHA for each district voters if they win.
GO WHERE, FOR YOU TO HIRE THUGS TO STEAL BALLOT BOXES AND INFLUENCE THE RESULTS. IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE, WHY ARE YOU AFRAID?. I WOULD ADVISE MOST VOTERS TO STAY AND KEEP WATCH UNTIL THE RESULTS ARE DECLARED CLEARLY AND ACCURATELY.
Go home for what? We shall all see how you will rig the election this year. Unless you use magical means. We shall even stay there with video cameras focused on you. Confusion can only set in if u attempt to rig. This year we shall all see.
Yoo so we should go home and come after you have hatched your diabolical plan. No way. We vote, stand around the polling station quietly and with the vigilance of an eagle eye, to protect the ballot box, for the ballots to be counted, the results declared and collated, the collation sheet posted on the constituency board and pictures of the collation sheet taken on our phones before we leave. You think we are ***barred word***. We shall see. There is no way this process will bring any confusion unless somebody comes to do monkey business.
