Private legal practitioner Ace Anan Ankomah has taken a swipe at the PURC over the price of some boreholes they intend constructing for some deprived communities in the country.
The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission has secured approval for some GHC30million for the construction of about 500 boreholes in selected rural communities.
The amount has generated massive public discussion after it was disclosed by the opposition New Patriotic Party. The PURC has however denied claims that the project is being used as a smoke screen to fund the re-election bid of President John Mahama.
"PPP has given approval but the PURC has not awarded the contract. If anything is going to happen the project will start in 2017 January," the PURC spokesperson Nana Yaa Gyantua explained.
Commenting on the development, the popular lawyer cynically claimed that the planned boreholes have extraordinary features, hence the price.
“People like Franklin Cudjoe just don't get it. This is no ordinary borehole. Think of it as a DISPENSER. It's gonna come with buttons and it will dispense boiling water, hot water, warm water, room temperature water, cold water, ice water, pure water, chilled water, ice cubes, crushed ice, ice 'blog', Americano coffee, Latte, Cappuccino, Expresso, Earl Grey Tea, Queen Anne Tea, Lipton Tea, Indian Tea, Milo, Bournvita, pito, whiskey... ei!
Heck. The thing can even toast your bread and fry an egg for you,” he wrote on Facebook.

I can't believe people have the nerve to criticize Ace Ankomah for simply stating the obvious. Being politically neutral does not mean a person should be turn a blind eye when corruption is being perpetuated egregiously and with impunity. GHC 60,000 for one borehole? Aaaba! If you come to this platform to defend the NDC party and the govt for this ***barred word*** ***barred word***, then I'm afraid you have no conscience. We the well-meaning Ghanaians with intact consciences will not stop exposing or calling the govt out for the massive corruption. Well done Ace and shame on you PURC!
This is pure disgraceful. GHS60,000 for each borehole? Disgraceful indeed. Looks like we are a people without conscience.
So if a deal is bad one can't see or smell it because one's government is in power. So then what is in for you guys. The only benefit you get from governments is that they use our money to provide for all of us. They should use the money wisely so we all benefit from it. If that doesn't happen then we are in trouble and will have ourselves to blame if we don't speak up
ACE ANNAN AKOMAH'S COMMENT IS DISAPPOINTING, TO SAY THE LEAST. THIS SARCARSM WILL ONLY DAMAGE HIS REPUTATION.
NDC KNOWS HOW TO USE THE STATE MONEY TO BUY THE CONSCIENCE OF EC COMISSIONERS, EC OFFICIALS, POLLING AGENTS TO RIG THE ELECTION. THE CONSCIENCE OF THESE PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED. NPP SHOULD OPEN THEIR EYES WIDE AND CHECK THE BALLOT PAPERS, PRINTING OF PINK SHEETS AND MANIPULATION OF FIGURES. NPP SHOULD BE AT THE POLLING STATIONS AND WATCH THE POLLING AGENTS CAREFULLY, FILLING OF PINK SHEETS, SENDING THE PINK SHEET TO COLLATION CENTRES AND COMPILLATION AND TALLY OF ALL THE FIGURES. NO ONE SHOULD BE TRUSTED IN THE ELECTION PROCESS.
Did I hear this projects were started in 2007? These things will not stick at all. It means these were the things NPP was doing while in government. The real work is on the ground. This will not win you votes. Beneficiary communities will also vote against you.
special features ? eeeei mahama simpa panyin ! I hear that the boreholes can even fly from location to location as additional feature. Lastly the borehole can water " trees under schools"
They behave as if they are neutral but gradually, we are seeing their true colours. Go check, this man is also fighting the government over some judgement debt for his client. This judgement debts is a whole 'industry' lawyers on both sides of the political divide use to sleaze the state. Watch this space as soon as an NPP government comes his would be paid and he will forever be quiet on the ills in government. If you don't these characters you'll always follow them blindly.
Incompetent Lawyer. When did you find your voice.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! That was a good one Ace. Some serious relief for the high tension. Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen the bore holes would be so cool!!! I better approve of it fast
