The National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, has stated no executive member of the party will abdicate his or her post following the party’s embarrassing defeat in last week’s polls.
According to him, even though, the party’s leadership had been in excruciating pain since the declaration of the results of the presidential and parliamentary polls, held on December 7, 2016 none of its constituents will be cowed into resigning.
President Mahama and the governing NDC were defeated in last week’s presidential and parliamentary polls by the NPP led by Nana Akufo-Addo.
The NPP trashed the ruling party by about one million votes and also won majority of the parliamentary seats.
Akufo-Addo polled 5,716,026 votes representing 53.85% in the 2016 elections to give him an edge over the ruling National Democratic Congress leader Mahama, who garnered 4,713,277 votes representing 44.40% of the total votes.
Following the declaration of Akufo-Addo as Ghana’s president-elect by the chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Charlotte Osei on December 9, 2016, some members of the NDC went berserk, accusing their executives of complacency.
They thus called for their immediate overhaul.
But speaking on Wednesday, in an interview on Morning Starr, Mr. Adams who was the campaign coordinator of the John Mahama re-election bid rubbished such calls as unnecessary and that they were as a result of pain of loss.
“If the entire National Executives resign then who’ll be running the affairs of the party from now till you conduct [internal elections] and who’ll be conducting the elections right from supervising the process from the branch all the way up,” he quizzed.
“…This is why I’m saying some of the solutions or suggestions are out of pain of a defeat but not really based on any sound reasons,” he added.
He continued that “In any case the party that just won an election, they lost an election also - Peter Mac Manu who [is] the campaign manager for this election was the chairman when they lost the elections in 2008.
“But the NPP did not say that because he was chairman and they lost elections he was not qualified to be a manager. They made him a campaign manager [and now] they have won an elections. So what is our people talking about?
“Is it not the same set of executives with just a few additions that won us [NDC] the 2008 and the 2012 elections? At that time they were not failures because they won. They were celebrated. And so today because victory did not smile at us so all these executives, whom have all sacrificed…[to give] us victory from opposition and maintained victory in 2012 all of sudden have become show bag. Let’s think back and forward before we push some of these agenda.”

Even the way Kofi adams is talking to the people who voted for them says it all and tell us the kind of person he is, if NDC doesnt act fast and maintain this rabbit teeth they will forever stay in opposition and see us celebrating Ghana at 60,70,80 and 100
Nana isnt the president now till 7th january so go for goodies from JM. NDC with this behaviour will rot in opposition
MASSA: Look how this reptile and arrogant full Kofi Adams talks to his grassroot NDC members !!!!!!!!!rather appallig !!!!!he talks t them like they are donkeys !!!!!because instead of him to show some modesty and explain tings in a civilised manner ; this ewe species of a RAT goes on the rampage with insults talking to his party members as if they are DUMM clowns who do not understand the mechanics of how a party works ; ALL THE PEOPLE ARE ASKING IS KOFUI ADAMS AND HIS ARROGANT FULLS RESIGN TO ENABLE OTHERS TO BE SELECTED BECAUSE IT MAY BE THAT THEY COULD RE- ELECTED AGAIN!!!!! ; Kofi Adams approach is typical of the NDC ethos ; Show disrepect to others because they are in charge and know better than anubodyand the louder you shout the better people know you are GOOD just like Omane Boama !!!! ; these NDC executives including this stiller Protuhty think a position in the NDC is a personal property and that you can relinqusih it as to when you choose to do so -WRONG !!!!!!!!;the resons why the NPP did not demand the head of Mac -Manu in the past election is simple ; everybody knew the man did his best; Nana Akomea was one of the best communicators ; how could you compare him to Asiedu Nketia ; besides the TRUTH is that in the last 2012 elections ; the NDC never won the elections !!!!!!!!; Nana Akuffo won the election but NDC cheated BIG TIME !!!!!!; this time there was no ballot suffing and the number of voters dropped drastically because most of the people who voted from Togo ; Ivory Coast ; Burkina were afraid to vote because they knew they would be caught by the vigilance of NPP watches posted to watch the borders besides the Npp had a whole host of people from the disopara who had complex IT skills which the NDC party could not match ; KOfi Adams should know that until they learn to be HONEST in anything they do THE NDC PARTY IS DOOOOMED !!!!!!!
