The outgoing Ashanti regional Minister John Alexander Ackon has stated categorically that he will not defect from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He indicated that defecting to the incoming NPP administration is not in his dictionary describing it as a ‘not fair’ statement from a section of the public who say he is a good politician but belongs to a wrong party.
According to him, these comments from some Ghanaians is not complimentary advising them to respect his political affiliation and his choices.
Speaking with host of Abusua Nkommo on Abusua FM Kwame Adinkrah, he described it as a very offensive comment and that the NDC is not a wrong party as speculated saying he does not need NPP.
‘‘I don’t spare people who make this comment, I have been arguing with people on this, that is how God created us, we all have choices, nobody can tell me that NPP is a better party than NDC. It is not written anywhere. They should respect people independent of their opinions’’.
‘‘Just respect me for who I am and part of the respect is that I belong to the NDC. I don’t have any single idea in my life to defect. Defecting to NPP is not in my dictionary, I feel insulted when people say this, what is a wrong party? Does it makes sense to you? It’s a good idea they are supporting me but unfortunately that statement in itself is backward, it’s not far reaching. It’s humanely wrong, we all have our right to decisions’’.
‘‘They think it’s a complimentary comment but it’s very offensive, that statement is not fair, I don’t need them, we all Ghanaians. How many of us are Ministers even in NDC? Do you have to be a Minister before you can help a political party or Ghana as a whole to grow? I don’t think so,’ a livid outgoing Minister said’’.
Mr Ackon pointed out that the NPP is in no way better than the NDC and that they do not have better men to be at the helm of affairs of the country than the latter.
The defeated Parliamentary candidate for Obuasi West Constituency said the NPP cannot compare itself to NDC when it comes to the human resources force.
‘‘You cannot even convince me on the human resources they have,’’ he said.

Well said, Kobina Ackon. You should never dream of coming to npp because you will fail entrance exam to the party.
You are pardoned because u just been exorcise of insanity and savagery which is failing.
Well Said Mr. Ackon. NPP do not have the thiefs in NDC and we don't envy the NDC for this kind of Human Resource.
peace fm learn to write good english for once. when people even speak their good english and you are reporting it then you allow your akan speaking jss journalist to write it wrongly. why. i respect your decision to remain in the ndc than joining a rebel group like npp with their rebel leaders. i pity gentlemen like ex prez kuffuor, dan botwe and a few others who are still part of this rebel patapaa group aka npp.
But who said this man will fit into the NPP? Look at what he is spewing a loser in even his parliamentary seat can't be any good politician to defect to any party ndc and bragging. Who said NPP needs this man for what and on what? Which human resources is he talking about that bunch of failures and thi*ves? He should come again. He fits very much into where he is. I get pissed of when they brag like that, with incompetency and inefficiency being party of your gene and you compare ndc to NPP? Name your ndc best? If you have that your so called human resources how on earth would you think of fielding John Mahama who has suffered a gargantuan unprecedented defeat as a sitting president? Somebody Ghanaians have rejected and you still insist he should represent you in 2020 when it is clear that defeat will dissolve the ndc? You are joking! Never, ever compare your ndc to NPP for there is a large gap between the two ndc do not come anywhere near the NPP so sh*t up to bury your shame. I don't think people will make that mistake to saying being in the wrong ndc party means join the NPP? NO! there are so many parties including the ndc sponsored Akua Donkor party or PPP which also have people who are better than those in the ndc. Mr Ackon stop bragging to compare your atiwiifuo ndc party to the civil and decent NPP.
