The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has charged the in-coming New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration to restore the confidence which citizens have lost in the country’s democratic system.
According to the party, the country has witnessed fluctuating growth under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the years.
Leader and founder of the party, Dr Papa Kwesi Ndoum who was speaking at a news conference on Thursday, 29 December has, therefore, charged the Akufo-Addo-led government to make a difference to ensure that citizens gain trust in the country’s democracy.
“It has become clear whether it is the NPP in government or the NDC that we improve, and then we come back. This see-saw, forward and backward growth in development has been a problem and for the ordinary Ghanaian it has been making them lose confidence in the democratic process,” he noted.
Dr Nduom further noted that the “forward and backward movement” needs to end with the country’s economy being placed on an upward growth.
For him, the PPP will not be only a political party for elections but will remain committed to “implementing a fundamental change to strengthen our foundation as a country and provide a springboard to provide prosperity that is not limited to a few”.

Say you are tired, don't speak for we! talking a good game will not make you a doer. Mr Nduom, give the incoming President space to operate, get over your predictable loss.
Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has lived in an illusion for many years now. He was a part of the NPP Kuffour administration but felt too big for the party so he went to CPP with his ego. There too he felt too big to submit to the party structure. Therefore his solution was start his own party which he is the father and founder and lord of all. He has contested again and again and the best he has been able to garner is 1%. But even before the new government takes office, here he is postulating and throwing his weight about. Sure, he may comment and contribute his ideas to the nation building. But let his know that he will remain a 1% stake holder of the national discourse and the earlier he cuts his ego to size, the better.
The only party that made about 90% gain over the 2012 elections. I am happy for Dr. Nduom. He should not throw in the towel. We, the over 105000 supporters who voted for the party ought to use the next four years to do a serious campaign. 1. We have a competent and experienced leader. 2. Competition electioneering produces efficiency in government. 3. Parliament needs a third group of MPS who neither belong to NDC nor NPP. They can give us a fairer idea as to the direction that we should go. NDC & NPP's entrenched positions are not helping Ghana. 4. The Ghanaian voter should know that the laws of Ghana even allow for independent presidential candidates to contest elections. If it is just the huge numbers at the support base, then we should not have any problem with NDC or NPP administration. 5. We the voters can "cook" another party to be strong to join NDC & NPP.
PAPA KWESI WE ARE TIRED OF ND N NPP SELF BUT GHANAIANS ARE STUBBORN
