Nana Ofori Owusu, a member of the Progressive People's Party, has urged Ghanaians to treat with contempt the issues of plagiarism regarding the inaugural speech by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Speaking on Peace FM's 'kokrokoo' programme, Nana Ofori Owusu wondered why the issue of plagiarism seems to have taken the centre stage of political discourse in the country.
According to him, plagiarism will not feed him neither will it bring any development to the country and so, much attention should not be given to whether the President plagiarized speeches by some world leaders or not.
To him, President Nana Akufo-Addo delivered some key words in his speech during his inauguration ceremony at the Black Star Square on Saturday, January 7 and he has taken notice of the promises made by the President.
He will therefore begin to mark the President and his government's performance and measures aimed at achieving their objectives for the country; this is of interest to him than joining the fray to score political points.
" . . I am not going to choose to build a negative image. I’m building a positive image for Ghana. We must all have good thoughts," he advised.

The statement was made by Woodrow Wilson over 70yrs ago. By law, there's no plagiarism if somebody's statement is quoted after 70yrs. Even George ***barred word*** did not make any reference to Woodrow when he used it in 2001. Ghanaians give us a break
Are you people aware that intellectual property which is more than 70yrs in no more acclaim to a person or persons. Ghanaians should stop this hateful attitude and rather think and analyse the content of the statement. Plagiarism is no where near koraaa. Lets research and learn.
Does Nana Ofori Owusu know that plagiarism is a crime against the copyright law and has destroyed the integrity of many learned-people the world over? The corruption of the Head is the worst corruption. Our leaders are suppossed to be mentors.
Is this man PPP. These were the people who made PPP to lose. He himself did not even vote for PPP. He should learn to face issues.
If it were not to be an issue, all international media wouldn't have been discussing it. Am ashamed that with all the so called intellectuals we boasting of in NPP, we can write a speech for our president but to go copying speeches from all manner of people. Share Incompetence at the highest level.
The eugene guy has apologised so this hypocrisy should stop. If Mahama had done it, it would have taken center stage. One cannow say mahama was unfairly treated by citizens. Why are we not attacking Nana? Fooooolish politics paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Hahahahaha....... Wo mmboor dam!!! Would have said same in Mahama's case? The rod used on Baah has been kept and will be patiently used on Takyi...... It is no big issue to you....but a simple error in a brochure ascribing Uhuru Kenyatta as Ghana's president was an issue. Masa tell shortingo to stand properly....for its just the beginning!!! Thank God you are very much aware of the Ghanaian attitude....where even seller slashed prices down to make one government unpopular... Now you realize Ghanaian attitude???
These are the sorts of people who are doing this country no good. A serious thing like this has happened, embarassing everybody and you talk this rubbish. Akuffo Addo is no more a flagbearer but the President of Ghana so you cannot dictate to Ghanaians what is important and what is not. uselesssssss man
Go and tell that to CNN and co.
