The Member of Parliament for Bodi constituency and a member of the Appointments Committee in Parliament, Sampson Ahi says the Minority has rejected the Minister-designate of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Afisah Djaba for recommendation to the plenary.
“There is a general consensus for us in the Minority not to support Otiko because of her posturing before the committee and her response to some questions that were asked her during vetting yesterday. Off-course her approval will be by the majority when it comes to the floor for consideration,” Mr. Ahi told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM Wednesday.
The MP said they will register their position for the public to know why the nominee was rejected by the minority members on the committee.
Gender Minister-designate Otiko Afisa Djaba who faced the vetting committee yesterday was in the news for several controversial issues that popped up at vetting Tuesday.
Her refusal to apologise to former President John Dramani Mahama for some “distasteful” comment she made against her prior to the 2016 election is undoubtedly one of the topical issues that might have dimmed her chances to be supported by the NDC minority side on the committee.
She’s reported to have upheld her earlier comments that Mr. John Mahama was “Wicked” and an “embarrassment” due to his inability to develop the three Northern country where he comes from.

The devil is a liar. Those asking for the apology does not deserve it in anyway. They are the worst culprits when it comes to foul language. Madam Otiko did the right thing and if they want apology they should go and burn the see before
From my understanding of this, Otiko did not prove to the panel that she could not do the job she was interviewed for, but just because she refused to apologize to Mahama the NDC guys will not give her the job. This is bulllllll crappppppp.
minority, you can go to hell. the majority will approve her
U see why we the blacks never move forward? We offer jobs to incapable people we know or would go on their knees and beg or would open their legs in bed than those who seems competent and straight forward to handle our jobs. A mere man have spoken its time for real men and God to speak. Otiko all the way
face like his name
If vetting is only for the minority to get your political opponent to retract political opinions and criticisms then you have failed. We are talking Ghana and you are seeking only to whittewash John Ford Mahama? JDM is a spoillt thing. It is clear, because despite all the he's 'equal to nkrumah' and he's "better that Nkrumah" did not work. Onaapo. Otiko is my dame: she locked you all and showed you your 'wicked' faces in her mirror.
see face
That is NDC's plan to derail NPP's work. BUT THEY HAVE FAILED FROM THE ONSET!
Go to your room Sampson and don't let me hear 'peep' from your mouth. Disrespectful boy! 😂
