With all the flourishing businesses and millions credited to Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, an orange seller managed to look him in the eyes and say “I pity you”.
About a week ago, Dr. Nduom reveals he met an orange seller when he made stopover on his way to Elmina. The woman who could easily indentify the founder and leader of the Progressive People’s Party just like millions of Ghanaians can, quickly moved over to him and passed the sad comment.
According to Dr. Nduom, when the woman drew closer to him she quipped “gentleman, you look pitiful to me”.
Dr. Nduom who found a lighter side to the story recounted on ATV’s ‘Ghana Great and Strong’ show that when he inquired from the orange seller why she pities him, she responded by saying that: “when I look at the way you are toiling and spending heavily on your campaign, I feel pity for you”.
The business magnate however didn’t depart the scene without leaving behind his mark. “What I did was to ask her the price of her oranges and she said GHS10. I gave her GHS10 and asked her to take her oranges away”.
Dr. Nduom shared this personal story as a prelude to his show on ATV’s ‘Ghana Great and Strong’ show.

Hi guys lets all not be ***barred word***, Dr. Nduom for the avoidance of doubt knows too well he will never become President with his party. If indeed he wanted to be President he with all his influences could lobby through the NDC or the NPP to become a Presidential candidate for the any of the two popular parties. Now in the last two elections he made Akua Donkor his running mate. Do you guys really think Akua Donkor could have run the affairs of Vice if Dr. Nduom had won? I mean let be serious for once. Dr. Ndoum for all intent and purposes is only using this Presidential bid for run his business period. Thats as far as he can go. Good luck to him.
The Orange Seller was right in her thinking. She is a real native who has real feelings for people who make a lot of effort to attain some goals in their lives. When such people fail to attain their goals, they attract a lot of sympathy. Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom deserves sympathy for the efforts he has manifested in his quest to become the President of the Republic of Ghana, and his failure. He campaigned well in the last two presidential elections and endeared himself to many ghanaians. His poor scoring might have surprised many. However, many ghanaians see Dr Nduom's failure as deserving and self-inflicting.Some people see him as egocentric and willing to go alone when he could go with others to fight for the well-being of Ghana.Dr Nduom hit the limelight when he worked in the Kuffour government as Energy and Economic and Finance Minister respectfully. He did so well that he was tauted as one of the best Ministers. He was the envy of NPP members who disliked his all-inclusive membership in Kuffour's government. Dr Nduom was able to lead the Convention Peoples Party in the Elections that followed but lost miserably. He then broke away from the CPP to form the PROGRESSIVE PEOPLES' PARTY and again lost the 2016 Presidential elections. Many ghanaians consider Dr Nduom as a good political material but see his chances of winning the Presidential elections alone as very minimal. Becoming the President of Ghana is the ultimate goal of politicians of Dr Nduom's calibre. The problem is that in Ghana, for now, one has to belong to the NDC or the NPP to win the Presidential slot.Despite all his financial might,he could not convince ghanaians to give him the nod. Dr Nduom didnt have to be President of Ghana at all cost. With his immense Economic know-how,he could have aligned with other parties, may I say the NPP? to serve Ghana. Some people would say he was too ambitious and that he thought he could have his way with money. It is a pity he ccouldnt serve Ghana to the best of his ability and wish. The Orange Seller was indeed right. Not she alone but many ghanaians pity Dr Nduom for what has befallen him in politics.God so good, he has his Business Empire to occupy and make him happy. We wish his son well, hoping he will learn from his father's adventure.
I am not surprised. The Orange sellers comments personifies the thinking of many Ghanaian. They Think the presidency is a reward and that is why they don't care about the corruption that goes on there. If only we could think beyond our noses, Dr. Nduom would not be struggling to become president in this great nation. AWAKE
I don't know if people can't see beyond their noses. This man is so intelligent. The popularity he gains from the campaigns don't win elections but makes his businesses grow and increase his credibility in the business world. He can easily get contracts and secure loans because of his campaigns. How would this woman have known who he is if he wasn't a presidential candidate? Can this woman recognise Nana wan? He is benefiting so much from these campaign and he doesn't lose
The orange seller is more intelligent than Paa Kwasi Nduom. I will say no more.
TO JGEE. IF THATS WHAT YOU THINK THEN COME AGAIN, WHY SHOULD TRUMP BECAME A PRESIDENT AFTER ALL HIS MONEY AND BUSINESSES. ITS A stage in life. WHEN YOU GET THERE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND. NEVER CRITICIZE SOMEONE UNTIL YOU HAVE ONCE BEEN IN HIS SHOES
The fact is that all the Nkrumah parties should put their differences aside and come together as one political party.
If that is what it takes to get 10cedis then i will use that word every time I see Dr. Nduom. I like Nduom but he was ungrateful to K4 and NPP. He is paying the price for that in the political arena.
How very little knowledge people have about things happening around us,this is such a sad story, this poor woman has no idea about what goes on behind the scenes, flag bearers get aid and sponsorship from all sorts of business moguls, just by been a presidential candidate, they have a lot of benefits you have no idea about, i just hope someone in the woman's family will be able to explain to her about what really goes on.....
