Director of Elections of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo says the party is strong and not broken.
Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Mr. Ofosu Ampofo debunked claims by former Trade Minister, Dr. Ekow Spio-Garbrah that the NDC is a "broken party" and deserves fixing.
“The situation in our party is really one of building the party and letting it recover from a very severe electoral loss. It is just like driving a very good car and the car has an accident and it needs to be fixed, so the first thing you want to do is take it to the mechanic and let the electricians do their work, check the transmission, take care of the brakes, the shock absorbers, then when the car is in a good condition almost any driver can drive it and potentially bring it to the victory line.
“ . . If the car has broken down and you put the best driver in the car, the car cannot move and the car will certainly not win a race so our concentration now is to help the Kwesi Botchwey committee and the party secretariat . . . There is a committee of very fine brains going round to collate concerns and when they file their report we will all see where they claim or think the problems was," he told Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM.
But the party's Director of Elections delivered contrary views stating emphatically that "nothing of the party, right from the national level to the branch level is broken. They’re all intact."
According to him, there are ongoing processes to reorganize the party and ensure it becomes a formidable opponent to the government.
It is in this respect that the party has set up a Committee address any misgivings within the party.
“Already, the party is in the process of reconstruction. Very [very] soon, we will start reorganization of the party across the length and breadth of the country. Already, plans are far in advance. By next week, the National Executive Committee will be meeting. When the National Executive Committee meets, then the plans that the Functional Executives have outlined for reorganization for the party will be (discussed) tabled and discussed. When we finish discussing everything, then we will hit the road and we will reorganize the party. So, it is not a broken system as it’s being speculated . . . I believe it’s a process of rebuilding, reorganization and restructuring," he said.

Look at this ***barred word*** guy who responds to the name Ampofo. As the so-called Director of Elections, he was always in the Veep's convoy of many cars instead of sitting in the party HQ and directing affairs and he wants to be relevant now? ***barred word***!
Ei Ewiase Paa nie. When Mr Ofosu Ampofo ndc was in power I can count the times he came on Kokrokoo on my fingers at my right hand. Kwame Sefa God richly bless you because you forgive and you always remember those who (panelists) helped you for you to dominate the air waves. Where is Baba Jamal? I think Mrs Doe has not got the balls to come back.
Mr Ofosu Ampofo, you say you (NDC) are meeting next week to discuss and put out a plan for rebuilding. Why don't you wait until Prof Kwesi Botchwey committee comes out with its findings before you meet to take a concrete decision to address all the concerns. Fro one breath Dr Spio Garbra and Solomon Nkansah are saying NDC is broke and you are saying it is not. Your meeting next week will preempt and contradict the committee's findings. Truly NDC is broken up.
If it is not BROKEN why 'rebuild', reorganize', and what have you. Ei, NDC 'ɛne ɛntrɔ, Ofoso Ampofo?
see this elder of the church of Pentecost ooo, a double standard man. Yes we are comfortable leading when in deed your figures are showing you that you have lost...is it not a double standard? Today you are saying the NDC is not broken, yet you same person is telling ghanaians you are rebuilding...what has happened to NDC that you are rebuilding...the double standard am talking about. These are some of the reasons why people who are better off than such ones like this man do not want to come to the political front...they have damage even the innocents...why can an elder behave like this eeehhhh...God is watching and Ghanaians are watching you too
