A former National Security Advisor in the Atta-Mills Administration has expressed disgust at the lynching of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama.
According to Brigadier Joseph Nunoo-Mensah, this act smacks of indiscipline that has permeated the social fabric of Ghana.
"I am ashamed and if we don't take care, everything will fall apart. You see all sorts of acts of lawlessness all over the country and no one is putting them to check. I still can't come to terms with the fact that Ghanaians can do this to their fellow human being. It's very sad and shameful," he said on UTV's 'Adekye Nsroma'.
His remarks comes on the heels of public outrage following reports of the senseless killing of Captain Maxwell Mahama at Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region.
Even though investigations are still ongoing, the former National Security Advisor was repulsed by the conduct of the townsfolk and expressed the conviction that only discipline and adherence to the rule of law can save this nation.
President's Committment
Meanwhile, President Nana Akufo-Addo has given the assurance that justice will be appropriately served and the murderers of the late Capt. Maxwell Mahama brought to book.
According to the President, he's asked the law enforcement agencies to ensure the rule of law works, hence not to spare any person complicit in the murder of the deceased.
"We have to have a country where the rule of law works. I've been fighting for that all of my life and now that I'm in the chair, I've to make sure that there's meaning to it," he said.
DCE Suspended
On Thursday, President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo suspended the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Upper Denkyira West in the Central Region, Daniel Appianing from office.
The suspension of the DCE comes on the heels of some disparaging remarks he made regarding the murder of the late Military Captain Maxwell Mahama.
He has been directed to hand over to the Deputy Central Regional Minister, Thomas Adjei Baffoe.
The Minister for Local Government and Rural Development upon the instructions of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo issued a letter to that effect.

Massa; somebody tell this mother ***barred word*** to go and masterbate by himself or go get a blow job from Aisha Huang and stop this premature ejaculation on issues in Ghana today ; what did the ediotic monkey do when he was in power licking the boots of JJ Rawlings a general who salutes a junior officer named JJ Rawlings ; were it not the same person who with JJ rawling encouraged indecipline in the army accussing officers as uless people ; so Mr Mensah Nunoo what do you want from Ghanaians when you sowed the seed of indecipline ;arragance and stilling in Ghana; why do you not get out of Ghana if you are ashamed .
I don,t believe your name is Aboagye Twumasi as you have said . you are a disgrace to modern generation.
Fa wo ***barred word*** no Fi yen so
There are few suggestions to make. The accused should be laid on table and each given only 10 lashes in the full glare of the public, for them to a least feel the pain captain mahama went through before his death as they were beating him up and stoning him. They should be made to walk on their knees for just ten minutes as the approach the court room for trial. This will is just a first step that would deter those who still harbor such barbaric thought of lynching suspected criminals. Hope the police, military and judges are taking note. Thanks buddies.
Of course Nunoo Mensah has to be ashamed because he failed to do anything about lawlessness when he was in charge of the security of gh. In fact, he contributed to it. If the system is now too hot for him he should "pick his passport and get out". Hypocrite!!
PRETENDERS, this is how we Ghanaians have been treating robbers, drivers who knock others down by accident and pick-pockets all this while. It is this mob attach that we have gotten videos to watch so we are pretending as if this practice has never been with us. we should educate our up-coming children to be a lovely human beings and desist from mob actions. Education is the key.
Sure Brg. you have to be ashamed now because your stewardship as CDS and national Security Adviser has not yielded and positive results. You were part of the team that had Babies with Sharp Teeth insulting and denigrating anyone who did not side with them. You were part of a system that introduced the culture of silence for several years. you were part of a system where the leader and head of state of the country could insult anyone and even beat up his Vice President without being checked. this is what has grown to eat us all up. Quite sad the young and gallant soldier had to die this way. But it all because you also superintended the abuse of our moral fabric by allowing disrespect into our system. General, It is not too late to start a crusade to reverse this. don't blame it on anyone but yourself and the system you superintended. Ghana arise.!!!
BGRI. NUNOO-MENSAH DESERVES CREDIT FOR ADMITTING THAT HE IS ASHAMED THAT HE DID NOT CHECK LAWLESSNESS WHEN HE WAS NATIONAL SECURITY MINISTER FOR SIX YEARS OR MORE. THE LAWLESSNESS WHICH REIGNED UNDER THE IMMEDIATE PAST NDC GOVERNMENT IS WHAT IS COMING FORTH TO BITE US.
I blame John Ford Kanazoe Mahama for not containing his ministers who Rawlings called babies with sharp teeth who can insult anybody including pastors.
