Mr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, a former Trade Minister under the John Mahama administration has described as false a news report claiming he has commended the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
According to the report, Mr Spio-Garbrah described the Nana Akufo-Addo-led administration as being better at managing the economy than the NDC.
“On the law and order issue, they are very low, on trying to deal with the macro-economy in terms of just bringing the numbers down; inflation rate, deficits etc, they are doing better than the NDC had done” he was reported to have said.
However, Mr Spio-Grabrah in reaction said the report is misleading and inaccurate.
In a post on his Facebook wall, the one-time diplomat said, “I cited specifically NPP’s better performance with regards to inflation and the budget deficit—these are facts—, but then to note that just those two variables do NOT constitute an “economy” so the headline that “NPP is doing [better] than NDC in managing the economy” and attributed to me which some media houses are running, is inaccurate”.
He adds: “I have not said anywhere that the NPP is doing better than NDC in managing the economy. For example, the NPP is at least GHC 2 billion short in revenue generation; has seen a slippage in the exchange rate, including frequent shortages of dollars on the open market; NPP has been unable to pay various categories of workers on time; to tame increases in the prices of fuel and utilities; and they have done very little to create jobs and generate employment; or to diversify the economy. So the headline is deliberately twisted and we shall respond to it...”

This guy thinks himself to be smart but he's dull and weak.He looks confused all the time.I guess all his analysis proves NPP in 11 months has done far better that corrupt and incompetent NDC is 8 years.
what does Ghana,s opposition members do for a living? After stealing and draining the swamp from the public purse for a long time, it appears that their ill gotten wealth is becoming empty and dry. That is what happens if you earn money that you never worked for. You can't reap where you have not sown. Due to mismanagement of money itself through stolen wealth, Ghana's opposition members go broke so quickly. Hence they can't wait to come back and continue stealing. The same attitude is pursued by the incumbent and his party officials. Cry Africa Cry. This stealing is all over the place due to lack of digitization and computerization which depends on electricity. Ghana's politicians facilitate doomsor to enable manual ways of doing business to enable them to steal. That is a very easy method. Doomsor will never be fixed because of the urge to steal government money manually . That way one cannot follow the paper trail.
SO WHATS WRONG COMMENDING THE RULING GOVT?.NA AY3 DI3N.
He is just confused...he is trying to be in good books....you will never and can never rule this nation.
This Argument is too hollow for somebody seeking to be a President to have presented. NPP Administration has bearly been in Charge of the economy for only some few months. And if some economic indices like Inflation and budget deficit have performed better than before, then it's only fair to note that it only takes some time for it to mature so as for it to make any impact.Improvement in Budget deficit means the present Administration has restored Fisical dicipline, thus, for example, borrowing to pay salaries would be abolished. I think the New Administration is putting the fundamental structures both macro- and microeconomics in place for a formidable and sustainable takeoff. Then, deficit in Revenue is very obvious if some taxes which are nuisance to production of goods and Services are cut initially to broaden the taxnet in terms of bringing the huge informal sector on board. These are policies whose benifits would not be felt immediately. Indeed, unprovocatively,NDC as a big Opposition Party in Ghana lacks intellectual discourse.
It seems now the modus operandi of the NPP and its surrogate media is to publish a story of a purported statement by any former NDC appointed; misrepresent the story; cook a different story to suite their whimps and caprices. No wonder Kofi Wayo always says "NPP is not a Political Party- it is a Criminal Organization"
Mr Spio Garbrah whether the economy is good or not all that I know is my twin nieces have started secondary school without paying anything. That alone shows the different between NPP and NDC PERIOD
Twisted or not you know in your heart that economic wise, NPP is doing better. How can you say because you want to be presidential candidate everything NPP has done is not good. I tot you were making sense by that comment I read, but now you deny it?
This man is confused. He should hold a press conference and address Ghanaians on the Mahama guest house in Bole.
