Hajia Alima Mahama, the Local Government Minister, has incurred the wrath of the outspoken Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu.
Mr Naabu accused the Local Government Minister of causing confusion in the party, especially in the Gambaga-Nalerigu Constituency.
“I am warning the DCE for Gambaga and Hajia Alima to stop the confusion they are creating in the constituency, if there is any problem regarding this elections I will hold them responsible.”
According to him, the Minister for Local Government, who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Nalerigu-Gambaga, has engaged divisive acts in the area.
Mr Naabu claimed Hajia Alima Mahama had directed executives of the party in the constituency not to provide forms to supporters of the Deputy NADMO Coordinator, Peter Wuni, who is an aspirant and does not belong to her camp.
He appealed to the party’s leadership to warn the Local Government Minister to stay away from the elections.
“I’ve said it before that she will lose her seat and with what she’s doing, it’s very certain she will lose it,” Chairman Naabu said.
It would be recalled that some people filed petitions at Nalerigu-Gambaga, alleging electoral malpractices and fraud in the process, which forced the regional executives to investigate.

I love the way Chairman Bugri does his things sometimes worrying but that shows the sense of our military and police once upon a time and which made them fearful to society and even couldn't go near them let alone give them gh2.00. They were using marshal law, master say do this and that's all not even the president could get you out of the hands of the security. Those where the days when a relative is picked up by the police or any security service, nobody is going to cook or eat in the house until they here something positive from them, secondly even relatives were afraid to follow up to the police station fearing they might also be arrested if they pleaded for their loved ones. Ghana has really gone to the dogs. Our country nose dived during the P/NDC era when hate, env*ness, division, jealousy, disunity, disrespectful, tribalism and arrogance were introduced.AFRC was like NLC of 1966 when the military overthrew the government and handed over within a year for elections to be conducted. What I mean to say is, honesty, discipline, principles were the nature of the yesteryear Ghanaians. Those who hated what Ghana stood for and haboured evil intents were the ones who unfortunately got the chance to rule our country and introduced this evil canker which is destroying our country.
