Kweku Baako has expressed disgust over the stance of the Minority in Parliament over the cash-for-seat report.
The Minority in Parliament walked out of the August House on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 after building a case that they had received the 145-page Committee's document and couldn't have enough time to peruse the report thoroughly for discussions to be held on it in the House.
Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu, insisted that under the circumstances, his side of the House could not partake in the deliberations and so walked off.
Addressing the issue on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Kweku Baako described the Minority's action as pathetic and an exposure of their mischief.
According to him, they displayed sheer lack of concern because they adopted a deliberate strategy since the genesis of the issue to falsely accuse the Trade Minister and the Akufo-Addo administration.
Allegations borne out of Allegations
He explained that from the onset of the cash-for-seat controversy, people were made to believe it was an issue of "extortion" but today, it's "proven that their claims didn't make any sense from the beginning".
“It is deliberate. They don’t care. Look, create a critical mass of allegations borne out of allegations and defended by allegations…Whatever you do, subject it to any scrutiny; it doesn’t concern them”.
Though to him, the Minority have nothing to prove in the cash-for-seat saga, he however believes setting up a Committee to probe into the matter was a genuine cause.
He asked Ghanaians to develop "sufficient endurance" and be unfazed by the Minority saying they have deliberately chosen to make a mountain out of a molehill just to accuse the government of being corrupt.
"...damn! They’ve been well [well] exposed. They have been exposed. They have no case, that’s why they’re playing such tricks," Kweku Baako said.
Some sections of the 145-page report said: “ ...After the hearings and the analysis and evaluation of the evidence adduced before it has come to a conclusion that there is no merit in the allegations leveled against the Ministry of Trade and Industry as contained in the motion and which culminated in the setting up of the Special Committee.”
“That the practice of some Members of Parliament trooping to the media to make allegations against highly placed officials must cease.
"The Committee is of the view that Members of Parliament who indulge in such acts ought not to be heard in Parliament if they should thereafter bring those matters before Parliament for Parliament to deliberate on the matter", the Committee further cautioned.
However, the Minority has expressed reservations over the document and issued a seperate report that some persons of interests in the probe, including the Ministry of Trade and the organizers of the awards scheme, the Millennium Excellence Foundation.
From the Minority's perspective, the details of their report perhaps conflict with the conclusions made in the Committee's document and so boycotted the debate.
"What Animal Is Minority Report?"
But speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi, Kweku Baako stated categorically that “there is only one report" and asked "what animal is Minority report?"
"It’s unheard-of. Come on! We’ve got to be serious in this country…Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic. I am so scandalized…The whole thing didn’t make sense from day 1 but I supported the setting up of the Committee” for the purpose of “education by negative experience; exposure of the mischief through a transparent process”, he added.

Kwaku Baako is not a credible person to talk about this matter because every body knows his open bias against NDC but what his feeble corruption-prone mind has failed to grasp is that this is not about NDC. This is about the reputation of our nation. A few raazkcals who have the benefit of incumbency wanted to trade our reputation for their personal benefits and you go attacking NDC with colourful language! Why would anyone just sit down and accuse you that you collected $100k to sit near the president? And this parliamentary committee to investigate the matter was just a waste of taxpayers money. The same people who perpetrated or had connections to the perpetrators of the scandal were made to do the investigation so what outcome was expected apart from that krab! These guys are taking Ghanaians for granted and you kwaku baako with your frog-face sit down there to muddy the waters! We want an independent body to do the investigation because we know the scandal happened! That thing by parliament was an insult to our intelligence..a complete waste of taxpayers money whose outcome was known even before the their "work" began! And nana should keep his eyes open because people around him are derailing his modest progress through these scandals and we are taking notice!
KWAKU BAARKO IS AN INTERESTING PERSON. HE MAKES SO MUCH MONEY FROM THIS GOVERNMENT THAT HE JUMPS TO DEFEND THEM AT EACH TURN. HIS WIFE GIVES BIRTH IN AMERICA AND THEY GO TO AMERICA WHEN THERE IS A MEDICAL PROBLEM SO HE DOES NOT CARE. TECHNICALITIES CANNOT SUBSTITUTE THE TRUTH AND CANNOT ALSO NEUTRALISE CORRUPTION. THERE SHOULD BE NO TIME THAT THE PRESIDENTS PRESENCE WILL BE USED FOR SOLICITING FOR FUNDS OR WHATEVER. THIS IS BECAUSE IT INFLUENCES POLICIES WHICH ARE DETRIMENTAL TO THE POPULATION AT LARGE. ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT. I REMEMBER THE TIME MAHAMAS JEEP SAGA CAN UP, KWAKU BAAKO WAS NOT AS CHARITABLE AS HE IS JUMPING IN HIS SEAT TODAY. LETS BE CLEAR, I AM IN NO WAY SUPPORTING MAHAMAS JEEP SAGA. IT IS AN EMBARRASSMENT TO OUR COUNTRY AND IT ACTUALLY CAUSED CORRUPTION IN THE FORM OF THE GUY GIVING CONTRACTS WHICH HE COULD HAVE DESERVED BUT AT BLOATED COSTS. MY PROBLEM IS THE WHOLE POLITICAL CLASS OF OUR COUNTRY AND HOW CORRUPT THEY ARE. FOLKS WE NEED TO EDUCATE OURSELVES ON CORRUPTION TO KNOW THAT THESE ACTS ARE ACTS OF CORRUPTION. WE ALSO HAVE TO NOTE THAT COURTS AND PARLIAMENTARY INQUIRY USE A DIFFERENT TEST WHICH ARE ONLY OBJECTIVE SO ANY ISSUE CAN BE TURNED ON ITS HEAD AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT KWAKU BAAKO IS DOIND AND ALSWAY DOES. - NOTE THAT THE WORD OBJECTIVE IS NOT USED AS AN EVERYDAY LANGUAGE. THAT IS WHY SOMEONE CAN SEE AN ARMED ROBBER IN THE ACT AND THE CASE WILL BE SHOT DOWN IN COURT BECAUSE IT HAS NOT MET A SPECIFIC TEST. THE ACT OF CORRUPTION NEEDS TO MEET EQUITY PRINCIPLES THAT IS WHERE WE WILL SEE THE TRUE SCALE OF CORRUPTION IN OUR SOCIETY. I DOUBT IF BRINGING IN A SPECIAL PROSECUTOR WILL SERVE ANY GOOD PURPOSE. THOSE WHO SUPPORT THESE CATS CAN CONTINUE AND OUR COUNTRY WILL CONTINUE BEING A S....HOLE. THIS IS BECAUSE WHEN THE RICH HAVE A PROBLEM, THEY CAN EASILY TRAVEL OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY TO SOLVE THEIR PROBLEMS AND KWAKU BAARKO IS ONE. WHEN ORDINARY PEOPLE ARE IN THE SAME SITUATION THEY WILL BE LEFT TO DIE A ***barred word*** DEATH. WHEN YOU ARE POOR AND YOU SUPPORT SUCH THINGS IT IS UP TO YOU. YOU WILL CONTINUE TO SUFFER UNTOLD HARDSHIPS AND IT WILL BE LEFT WITH YOUR PASTOR OR MALLAM TO EXTORT MONEY FROM YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND EVEN IF YOU DIE FROM YOUR AILMENT, WILL BE ALSO BURIED LIKE A DOG. IF PEOPLE LIKE ALLORTEY, KWAKU BAARKO, SEFA KAYI, SAM PYNE, OFOSU AMPORFU AND THE REST ARE DEFENDING THEIR STOMACHS, ORDINARY PEOPLE SHOULD NOT JOIN THEM AS WHEN IT COMES TO THE CRITICAL POINT, THESE POOR PEOPLE WILL SUFFER AND THESE BOURGEOISIE DON'T GIVE A DAMN.
Peace FM online when are you going to upload the past Kokrokoo for us who are not able to listen live?
They minority are doing a great disservice to the people of Ghana. Were they elected to parliament to go and engage in this nonsensical effusion? Oh no. people are watching them. Don't be surprised, come 2020 most of these ***barred word*** MP's will loose their seats. Are there no elderly persons in NDC to advise these thwarts? I cry for NDC. A whole doctor in law ,Dr Ayine (Dr Ay3n) for political expediency is lying through his teeth. O NDC I cry for you. Are there no independent minded people in NDC?
Continue to sing the praises of the government and tell the President to go on with his usual 'clearance' of every misdeed under his government. The Committee sittings were live on air so no amount of propaganda can take out the truth. Most pathetic submission was Ashim Morton vacating his seat for the President. We are not children. They have the numbers and we have the thumb!
Really? so kyei Mensah Bonsu and rest of NPP Mp's are saints? Kweku banko is not truthful person when it come to matter of NDC we know him as a member of NPP
By their fruit we shall know them, they are confuse themselves, remember the alleged allegation against Boakye Agyarko, these are some of things Ghanaian sare going to witness if people like Haruna Iddrisu, Suhyni, Ablakwa, as for Muntaka, he has been reduced to a mere remote control person
WE HAVE A BUNCH OF MPs IN THE MINORITY WHO ARE NOT CRITICAL THINKERS AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, ARE FULL OF LIES.
The minority are just a group of mischievous people with little intellect. Most of their arguments and submissions either in parliament or in the media lack basic reasoning.
