Former President John Mahama has accused the Akufo-Addo administration of abandoning many of the projects started during his government’s tenure.
The former President says he finds it disappointing that a number of the projects remain uncompleted since his administration left office in January 2017.
Speaking during his campaign tour of the Northern Region, Mahama described the situation as unfortunate.
“It is a pity because everything that we started has come to a standstill. I go round the country and most of the roads, where we left them on 7th January 2017, that is where the roads have ended. All the community based Secondary Schools, where we left them on 7th January 2017, that is where they have ended.”
“And the tragedy is, if you ask the New Patriotic Party (NPP) what are they doing about the road they will say free SHS. If you ask about the CHPS compound, they will say we have given you free SHS, when you ask about jobs, they will say we have given you free SHS,” he said.
The former president is campaigning to lead his party the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2020 general elections.
Between 2013 and 2016, John Dramani Mahama administration undertook several projects across the country.
Some road projects that were awarded and under construction in the Brong Ahafo Region before NDC left office in January 2017 are:
1. Kintampo Town roads
2. Jema Town roads
3. Atebubu-Kwame-Danso roads
4. Sankore – Nobekwa road
5. Bechem Town road
Rural electrification
The Mahama government also added 700 communities in the region to the national grid.
These communities included Danyame, Nsesreso, Antwirifo, communities in the Nkrankwanta District and 80 communities in the Kintampo Municipality among others.
Education
1. Construction of fifteen (15) Community Day Senior High Schools (Danyame, Techimantia, Techiman, Kasapin, Duadaso, Kintampo, Awrowa among others)
2. The absorption and enhancement of 16 other Community Secondary Schools in the region, e.g. Sankore Senior High School.
3. Establishment of a satellite campus in Techiman for the University of Education Winneba
4. Expansion of the Nkoranza Technical Institute by constructing eleven (11) new structures for the Institute
5. Construction of over two hundred and forty (240) six-unit classroom blocks for basic schools in the region. These projects were all at different stages of completion as at January 2017.

You have started those lies again and you expect us to vote for you. Do you think Ghanaians wash their faces downside up. Greedy man
Why not?? Mahama, why not??? All those ***barred word***, over-inflated projects must certainly be properly scrutinized.... Go and sleep quietly and watch Nana teach you good governance !!!!!!!
Does Mahama and Lordina visit CHPS compounds for their health needs? He mentioned roads. All the roads he constructed which were bloated, are the roads motorable today? Collins Dauda, one of his goooooonnnnnnnnnnnns is on record saying, the schools they built were much more expensive and crumbled, did not last, than similar such projects schools built by philanthropists and corporate entities as part of their CSR. In the face of such, assuming without admitting, all such projects have been abandoned, if Mahama is somebody who thinks, does he reasonably believe, the gov't should continue with the mess, and then after 6 months, 1 year, go and look for funds to come and reconstruct those same projects again, with all the attendant consequences on cost, labour, forex, etc, etc? It seems Mahama is looking around, moving in circles, all over the place, desperately looking for his marbles, but can't find one, a single one.
💁🏾♀️
Did JDM win all votes in the mentioned towns and districts he is talking about? If not then he should re-think for the same people are going to show him the exit come 2020
Mahama ma yaso enko edidi wai. Yabr3w. U sound like an irritating mosquito disturbing our ears. Go away
Again, this dude might be speaking under the influence of alcohol. How many of JAK's housing projects did Mahama complete during 8yrs of their regime? Should Nana complete the so called contracts with the HUGE DEBTS Mahama left behind? When you award fraudulent contracts while collapsing financial institutions, perpetrating DUMSOR, running to IMF for policy credibility etc, the economy becomes a mess. That's exactly what Mahama left as his legacy. If the NDC was wise, they will dump Mahama like a rag. But they're not, so they'll elect him again as flag bearer and Ghanaians will teach them what they don't know and can NEVER learn.
what roads? Did you pay the contractors? funny man
Why Mahama? You and your family notably Ibrahim can never get hold of Akan Bauxites in the name of Ghana . Enough is enough. We’ve learnt our lessons . We all know why you are struggling to power.
Mahama should tell us the TOTAL amount he left behind for these projects to be completed.
