Former President John Dramani Mahama says it is appalling that President Nana Akufo-Addo is not matching his promise with delivery on the issue of corruption.
Nana Akufo-Addo and his New Patriotic Party (NPP) made the fight against corruption a major plank of their campaign ahead of the 2016 general elections. But many people have expressed dissatisfaction over the president’s handling of allegations of corruption against his ministers and other appointees.
Addressing delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Axim in the Evalue-Gwira constituency on Tuesday as part of his five-day flagbearership campaign tour of the Western Region, Mr Mahama said the President has consistently cleared his appointees of corruption allegations, pointing out that that is at variance with his promises in opposition.
Speaking on issues affecting fishermen, Mr Mahama said the rising cost of pre-mix fuel and the astronomical prices of outboard motors are taking a toll on the sector.
He therefore called on all members of the NDC to unite and work hard for the victory in 2020 in order to address these challenges.
Mr Mahama is also promising to work hard to provide jobs and reduce the high cost of living when elected in the next presidential election. ***END***

I do not think the former president has good advisers and also the speeches he reads at places are prepare by an expert in communication. If I were him I will not talk about corruption.Your government was bedeviled with many corrupt activities which some has been jailed like Abugah Pele,Opuni in court and more are with the special prosecutor and EOCO. Please let sleeping dog lie. Ghanaians have no short memory as you think.
He is getting crazy on his 33% awaiting him in 2020!I'm surprised that John mahama doesn't check himself at all before talking, who doesnt know you in Ghana so whom are you talking to? directing your flagbearer campaign to national like you are a candidate is rather destroying you instead of helping you! the questions Ghanaians are asking is what are you coming to do? what did you start that were helpful that this government didn't continue that we need you back? and what new thing are you going to do apart from the create loot and share your priority policy?it is appalling to see you a former president campaigning with others for a party flagbearership, if you john mahama had done something better why didn't your own party choose you unopposed but others feel like competing to block you from getting the nod to lose the general election and prevent you from causing more damage to Ghana? you are a disgrace to Ghana former presidents and the country! you've lost your dignity as a former president as you head to another defeat in 2020! it will take a Bole Bamboi native a thousand years to the presidency! nobody wants a dictator as a leader, somebody who has lost an election massively as an incumbent and still thinking he is the only person and think he is popular with the electorates even after defeat is only somebody who is a dictator who wouldn't allow others to also sell their vision. Ghanaians are waiting for you in 2020 no amount of juju or voodoo will work!
Nana Addo is only TOLERATING corruption, but you were CORRUPT. We have not heard of Nana accepting a Ford car from a contractor
I can remember the ford bribe, double salary paid to ministers, bus branding, GYEDA, SADA, Wayome....
How can Mahama describe the lie-prone NDC as many people when he knows they have plotted to rubbissh everything Nana and his government do, knowing full well that they cannot match the NPP on the economic and governance fronts. The NPP was given a 4 year mandate. Your lies and noises will not distract them. It is rather unfortunate that a contestant for a primary never addressed the electorates for the elections even once! This can only happen in the NDC, in which the electorates are regarded as nonentities so there is no need to address them! Please, stop advertising your incompetence to Ghanaians!
NOBODY EVEN TAKES THIS GUY SERIOUS ANYMORE...SO WHO ADVISES HMHMMM
