The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr is wondering why government appointees think President Akufo-Addo deserves plaudits for the enskinment of a New Yaa Naa in Dagbon.
According to him, others also contributed to the current state of Dagbon and must be acknowledged.
History was made on Friday when a new Yaa Naa, Mahama Abukari II was enskinned after 17 years of protracted dispute.
After the beautiful ceremony, praises started pouring in for President Akufo-Addo for ensuring that a new Yaa Naa is finally crowned.
However, Kwesi Pratt is not enthused about that.
“When it comes to the resolution of the Dagbon conflict, that one; superman did it all, what kind of logic is that? what about the soldiers and policemen who stayed there for weeks, the eminent chiefs…what about all the other people, they take no credit? What about previous government and heads of state, they take no credit? All these jostling for praise…praise for what? We need to extend this congratulations to all other heads of state: former President Kufour, Atta Mills, John Mahama…” he indicated.
Kwesi Pratt who was contributing to a panel discussion on Radio Gold’s Alhaji and Alhaji, said “if we sit down and pretend that the enskinment of yaa naa is an indication that peace has been restored in our country, something is wrong with us…the security situation in this country has not improved that much. Even in Dagbon we must be careful…”
“There is no doubt that Dagbon could not have chosen a better Yaa Naa than this…you can only conclude that this is the best Yaa Naa for the moment. I am encouraged by the statements he’s made so far…so I am comfortable with the enskinment and I am hopeful that he will contribute to the advancement and growth of Ghana and Dagbon. I congratulate the new Yaa Naa and the people of Dagbon; however, I know so many people are in pain because of the reckless disregard of law and order; they are in pain so many people have been widowed and orphaned but in the face of all of these, they have managed to enskin a new Yaa Naa and I think they deserve congratulations…there’s lots of work ahead to secure the interest and security of our people” he added.

Ghana we really have short memory. First of all, who kill Ya Naa? Is it not the same NPP regime that Ya Naa was murdered like a chicken under heavy security? By Then Nana Addo was Minister of AG, what is the Justice in Ya Naa's murder? Please, we do not want politics in this matter.
I have always held Kwesi Pratt for a populist and hypocrite and his actions and inactions have always proved me right. Before me is a journalist called Kwesi Pratt who is not credible and can be rightly likened to any paid-press journalist who has unscrupulously sold his professional ethics to his politic paymaster.
AAWWWWW KWESI..... ADA-BRAAKA
Like its not bad koraa ok but my big problem with this same pratt is that when it gets to the formation of Ghana he sats nobody should be mentioned alongside Nkrumah ns3m hunu kwa
Kwesi Pratt will always be a f0-01. It's a fact that cannot be denied. Always craving attention. Always wanting to be a contrarian. As it has been rightly stated on this platform, Nkrumah did not single handedly win us independence but from the absurd pr1mitive logic that Kwesi pratt spews on gullible Ghanaians, Superman Nkrumah deserves sole praise. Haven't ex presidents kuffour, mills and mahama been mentioned as well as other chiefs in the north for their role in this peace process?. Now Pratt wants soldiers, chicken, goats and worms to be mentioned. Pratt and his like have lost any relevance in our society with his their hypocrisy. had it not been radio talk shows, will someone like Pratt be known. A traitor who betrayed his own colleagues during the PNDC era. Mind you some of them lost their lives. Watch Agyei Boadi's testimony on the truth and reconciliation committee. He states, that you were lucky to leave Gondjar Barracks alive when brought there once but Pratt was a regular visitor. (14 times). A visitor who always left detention with a bottle of whisky in his hands. A double agent for the revolution. I have no time for this man. He who deserves praise, let him be praised.
Why is it that all the wise people are all becoming so ***barred word*** because of politics? Yes, so many others deserve some praise but who put it all together? would the soldiers have gone there by themselves? Did the Asantehene get into it by himself? and so on. Many people play very vital roles but all under the leadership of one man who gave them the leading to do so. On the contrary, President Nkrumah did not lead it all to the independence of Ghana, yet you think superman Nkrumah deserves it all. And who is talking about logic? Hahahahahaa. You are not even ashamed of yourself. Please listen to yourself when you speak.
Kwame Nkrumah is not the one who gave us independence Kwasi Pratt. Nkrumah is not the founder.
Kwesi, you ask this stiwwpid question whilst your oil and gold is being stollenn. And we have idiotss commenting as if it is worth it. You people must start concentrating on the wealth our forcking leaders are wasting. Who cares who becomes a Chief? What is the contribution of chieftaincy in Ghana?
it true , there are alot of people that must be praised. That is why Nkrumah can not be founder of Ghana
They should asked Kwasi Pratt that who and who should be acknowledged, if he is talking about John mahama. John mahama and his northern MPs used that as a campaign tool by deceiving northern people that they were going to do their posible best to bring those who killed the late Yaa Naa and they failed to do that and which everybody now knows that what they were saying is not going to happen. John mahama could have done what Nana Addo is doing but he was a coward to have believed that if the funerals are performed he won't will the elections and he lost.
