The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr is wondering why government appointees think President Akufo-Addo deserves plaudits for the enskinment of a New Yaa Naa in Dagbon.
According to him, others also contributed to the current state of Dagbon and must be acknowledged.
History was made on Friday when a new Yaa Naa, Mahama Abukari II was enskinned after 17 years of protracted dispute.
After the beautiful ceremony, praises started pouring in for President Akufo-Addo for ensuring that a new Yaa Naa is finally crowned.
However, Kwesi Pratt is not enthused about that.
“When it comes to the resolution of the Dagbon conflict, that one; superman did it all, what kind of logic is that? what about the soldiers and policemen who stayed there for weeks, the eminent chiefs…what about all the other people, they take no credit? What about previous government and heads of state, they take no credit? All these jostling for praise…praise for what? We need to extend this congratulations to all other heads of state: former President Kufour, Atta Mills, John Mahama…” he indicated.
Kwesi Pratt who was contributing to a panel discussion on Radio Gold’s Alhaji and Alhaji, said “if we sit down and pretend that the enskinment of yaa naa is an indication that peace has been restored in our country, something is wrong with us…the security situation in this country has not improved that much. Even in Dagbon we must be careful…”
“There is no doubt that Dagbon could not have chosen a better Yaa Naa than this…you can only conclude that this is the best Yaa Naa for the moment. I am encouraged by the statements he’s made so far…so I am comfortable with the enskinment and I am hopeful that he will contribute to the advancement and growth of Ghana and Dagbon. I congratulate the new Yaa Naa and the people of Dagbon; however, I know so many people are in pain because of the reckless disregard of law and order; they are in pain so many people have been widowed and orphaned but in the face of all of these, they have managed to enskin a new Yaa Naa and I think they deserve congratulations…there’s lots of work ahead to secure the interest and security of our people” he added.

I heard one NDC communicator say Nana was the then attorney general when the late yaa naa died so we should blame him and the npp for the death. Yet,Mr Prat doesn't want to give credit to the president for this unprecedented achievement. Nana might be the lucky man, but he's made it possible and nothing can erase this. The people are grateful and will never forget what NADAA has done for them. NANA FOR 2020. GOD BLESS YOU MR PRESIDENT, GOD BLESS GHANA!!
on uncle kwesi even the soldeirs eh but you claim nkrumah got us independence. can you use the same logic since you cannot, we are using it. tweeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa this one massa it paids you paaaaaaaaaaa
GOOD POINT PAID KWESI GOD BLESS YOU WITH MORE WISDOM
Look at his protruding teeth, what did your NDC do to bring peace the people needed. Empty headed Mr. know-it-all.
Kwesi what kind of logic is this, you give credit to Nkrumah for our independence even though some people started before him. I guess because he completed the process but you don't want to do same to Akuffo Addo. Is it sane or insane.
kwasi be at your sense. not you praise Kwame Nkrumah. that he alone get independence for Ghana, today not nana addo alone be praise
kwesi you see Ghanaians are not that ***barred word*** they are reminding you of your standard please take a humble bow and appologise to the good people of Ghana
Why should this NPP party always like taking credit for themselves without thinking of those who laid down the process since they started coming into power: Example 2003 they discover oil without praising those started the process, also this Ya Naa issue too why? Things they can not take credit for it is to change the law like Nkwame Nkrumah Founder's Day, why
People are so funny. What makes any sensible person think that such a lazy president like akuffo addo can help resolve conflict when he couldn't solve his own small party conflict and had to sack the chairman and general secretary as well as the vice chairman of his party. Can one convince me that such a ringleader of kumpreko demonstration as well as all die be die mantra can lead this sucessful peace process achieved by otumfour and other eminent chiefs as well as the good people of the northern region. Nana addo cannot even handle conflict around his own kyebi background come to talk of dagbon. There is even an alleged conflict between his office and that of the vice president and phony npp ministers and supporters want us to praise such a failure for the dagbon peace.
Kwasi just shaaatup
