Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC], Joseph Kobina Ade Coker, says it’s a norm for his party leadership and supporters to accompany their National Chairman to the Headquarters of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.
Their move is to show solidarity to the Chairman who has been invited by the CID to answer questions about a leaked audio tape that captures him making some comments that border on the country’s security.
Some have said the party’s move indicative of the fact that they are in tacit support of Mr Ofosu Ampofo’s utterances on the tape.
But Ade Corker described such people as “hypocrites” in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.
According to him, “it’s the order of the day” for any public figure invited by the CID to be accompanied by loved ones.
“We are showing solidarity to our chairman and there is nothing wrong about that,” he told host Kwesi Aboagye.
Peace FM’s senior reporter, Mr Obeng Manu, reporting from the CID office Monday, recounts that “almost all” NDC stalwarts and party supporters are at the premises of the Headquarters to solidarize with their party chairman and give him the full support needed.

When Ofosu Ampofo got the chance to comment on the tape, he could not state that the content were false. Instead, he went on a tangential course, touting his history as a peaceful person. Why; don't we know a lot of people who were once peaceful (assuming Ampofo was always a man of peace), but later turned out to be very voilent? He simply stayed away from the contents of the tape. In the end, the things he failed to say, actually spoke a lot to me; that this tape is authenic. As for Sammy Gyamfi and Brogya Gyamfi, you choose to trust them at your own peril!
We heard this f00*00l loud and clear and tomorrow he will come out with a different story and lying too the order of the day for the ndc, backward people! It's very unfortunate for our country to get such people as opposition, such backward people, Ghana deserve better! Ghana deserve a responsible opposition not cartels grouping up and calling themselves a political party, ndc is fake ! 'BRING BACK OUR T'DI GIRLS'
Really? It is the order of the day? Now you see what happens when a bunch of 1diots lead political parties to govern and nation. Not even the grown ups have sense in their heads. Aalu k3k3!
