The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has vowed to extradite Aisha Huang popularly known as 'Galamsey Queen' to face the laws of the country.
This was revealed by the Member of Parliament for North Tongu constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
The former Deputy Minister of Information who was speaking on JoyFM's Newsfile programme, Saturday, said it is a "decision of the party to bring back Aisha Huang to be prosecuted" and he had the "permission" of the former President and flagbearer of their party, John Dramani Mahama to make it public.
"This will be done when they win power in 2020," he indicated.
“I have the permission of my party leadership to announce that a future NDC government will trigger extradition processes for Aisha Huang to be brought back to face our laws; to be prosecuted in Ghana and I have the full backing of our flagbearer to make this announcement. We will pursue it” he further added.
Hon Ablakwa was speaking to the controversies surrounding a comment made by Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo during a town hall meeting in the United States of America. (Click to read)
Some critics who have analyzed the Senior Minister’s statement says his comment should be singled out because that is not the official stand of government.
However, Okudzeto Ablakwa believes Mr Osafo Maafo’s comment could be a secret that has been ‘let out of the bag’.
“…that is why I believe the Osafo Maafo statement is not a gaffe; he only put out what is obvious…this is a government conduct...a government position…maybe Osafo was not supposed to let the cat out of the bag. Now we have the statement of the senior minister standing".
According to him, “we all cherish China relations…. (but in China) they enforce their laws; they do not spare…economic considerations should not stop you from enforcing your laws"
“…we are hearing that apart from her illegal mining, there is also the issue of murder and other offences or more; we don’t want to create the impression that Ghana is a banana republic, you can come in and kill our people…” he added.
Mission Impossible
Speaking to this on the same platform, the Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Kweku Baako Jnr says the NDC's quest to bring back the 'Galamsey Queen' if they come back to office, is a "mission impossible".
According to him, "they (Chinese government) will never give you Aisha".

why didn't ndc put her to jail, because your ministers were bunking her right, you will only bring her to continue galamsay, ***barred word*** people
But deportation is one of the options for foreign criminals who are involved in illegal mining. And Okudzeto is saying what? bring her back to continue with her trial? What the Attorney General did was the wisest decision after all if she went through all the procedures she will either be jailed or be deported. Why then waste precious time on her. I support the Senior Minister's comments 100%. Those who do not agree with him should go to hell. Period
U lied about creating 6 million jobs we did not believe u. What makes u think we'll believe u this tyme.
WHO BROUGHT AIASH to GHANA in the first place. is not NDC governance time that the NDC gurus were sleeping with this woman AIASH, we all seen it on wasps and videos circulating all over GHANA and abroad. in Aiash time, is it not NDC who was in power at that time, why dont NDC arrested her in the first place, every thing Aiash was doing in Ghana in NDC's knew about them BUT NDC didnt DO NOTHING TO HER, anyway who is going to vote for you th-e-i-ves again to come and create loot and share
Yes, NDC if wins power should ask for Aisha Huang to extradited back to Ghana to face criminal charges, why should Ghanaian galamsayers face jail sentence if arrested and a foreigner that has cause such destruction to our country be allowed to go free, If A ghanaian is arrested in China for such a crime you will face the death penalty
Empty JDM and his bankrupt followers. CONCERT PARTY
They will bring her to do galamsey again to destroy our rivers so they can blame our chiefs.
The NDC is like a man who spent the whole night with a woman in bed till the day broke and succeeded in achieving erection only after the woman packed and left. They even provided security for this same Ayisha to perpetuate her criminal activities for 8years, yet they are now going to bring her back for prosecution? Funny bunch of jokers.
