The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Awutu Senya East in the Central Region, Michael Essuman Mensah, has strongly alleged that the gunshots that flawed last Saturday’s limited voters' registration exercise at Akweley, a suburb of Kasoa, were fired by the NDC’s Constituency Chairman, Ofosu Agyare - an accusation the Chairman is yet to deny.
Over the weekend, reports emerged of gunshots at the Akweley registration centre which disrupted the peaceful exercise.
According to the MCE in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, the NDC had intentions of registering foreign nationals, but were resisted, resulting in the firing of the gunshots.
