“The difference between the expectations of an Akufo-Addo government and what we have witnessed is vast. It appears we bought the latest smartphone on December 7, 2016, at Circle, and when we got home, we realised it was a bar of key soap”
The above quote is attributed to renowned Journalist Manasseh Azuri Awuni on his assessment of the Akufo-Addo led government he believes has hugely let Ghanaians down.
According to the investigative journalist in a Facebook post, he expects some honest persons within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to tell government that what they expected prior to the 2016 elections is far from what is being delivered.
“I’m sure the very honest people in the NPP will tell you they expected better from an Akufo-Addo government than what we have seen so far. You may have a point in your submissions, but I must say, if Jesus Christ had told me this was how an Akufo-Addo government was going to be, I would have doubted him”, he stated.

Because of the work I do, I meet and speak with people from different backgrounds -- the young and old, public servants and private sector players, people in government and those in opposition, politicians and civil society activists, Ghanaians and diplomats. We often discuss Ghana. I have made an observation in their general views in the past few years.
When John Mahama was president, people often said they were disappointed at the way he was running the country. They said they lost hope in the Mahama government. When Nana Akufo-Addo became president, people say they have lost hope in Ghana and have given up on our country. It appears the second one is more serious.
The difference between the expectations of an Akufo-Addo government and what we have witnessed is vast. It appears we bought the latest smartphone on December 7, 2016, at Circle, and when we got home, we realised it was a bar of key soap. Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, I'm sure the very honest people in the NPP will tell you they expected better from an Akufo-Addo government than what we have seen so far.
You may have a point in your submissions, but I must say, if Jesus Christ had told me this was how an Akufo-Addo government was going to be, I would have doubted him. Nana Akufo-Addo still has some time left to make a difference, but judging from what I have witnessed so far, I must say I'm underwhelmed. And for the first time since 2004, I'm wondering if I should vote in 2020.

mr know all journalist, what will satisfy you? mahama aa, wahala. akufo addo too you don't like. since you know all and you are perfect, why don't you stand for elections so that you are voted for. then you can bring your utopia to ghana. then we'll all be in the promised land. as for me, my latest phone I bought at circle is the exact fon I got when I open it at home. Huawei Y9. to each his own and the fact that you write and people read does not make you infallible. so please, the man was given 4 years and at the end ghanaians will judge his stewardship. stop trying to be mr know all. you cannot have met every single individual in ghana to think you know what everyone wants.your holier than thou attitude actually is a turn off. sometimes one questions your motives. anyway, that I leave to you. have a good day. ps: I thought you were being hunted by the hounds of hell in this current dispensation, therefore you are in hiding. anyway, hope this cup passes you by. bye!!
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA........NANAS NPP HAS TURNED MY 9 TO 6...ODI ME SIX AY3 ME NINE....AHHBA...NEXT TIME VERA!!!
yes all NPP sympathizers who are disappointed should not vote and all NDC sympathizers who have hope in Mahama, who was voted out bcos of Nana's Unrealistic promises, should vote massively.our colour tv has been turned into black and white and the reception is even not good, "mosquitoes" all over the screen!!
stop you insinuations and face fact, we all voted him in waiting to see GH work but it is getting worse than before... i have decided not to wake up at dawn go and queue to vote. don't wait, take your decision.
AT LEAST WE SEE VAST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN INCOMPETENT MAHAMA'S NDC AND AKUFO ADDO'S NPP. AZURE, IF YOU WANT A CAR, NPP WILL NOT GIVE IT TO YOU. YOU HAVE A JOB AS A JOURNALIST? THOSE WHO DIDN'T HAVE JOBS BEFORE THE INTRODUCTION OF NABCO APPRECIATE NPP; THOSE IN MY VILLAGE WHO NEVER DREAMED OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ARE IN THERE; THOSE WHO WOULD HAVE NOT HARVESTED HALF BAG OF MAIZE CAN NOW HARVEST BAGS...
Me too, I don’t I know if I’ll be be around then let alone to go and vote. I’m sorry to say NPP’s administration of Kufuor brought me to Ghana in 2908, when we lost the election, I still believed and waited wishing for the day NPP was going to come back. Today, I wished I had left sooner than now. This administration talks too much with nothing to account for. With over hundred ministers, first in the history of our beloved country will still wallow in filth. It breaks my heart to go back but from what I’m seeing there isn’t any hope for the coming years. For many of us this administration has dashed our last hope to see Ghana moving forward. Where are all the industries we were made to believe coming to Ghana. Talk is indeed cheap!
stop wondering whether to vote or not. many of us have already decided not to vote come 2020.
