Member of Parliament [MP] for Lower Manya Constituency in the Eastern Region, Ebenezer Okletey Terlarbi, has called on government to explain to Ghanaians the truth behind its 1Village 1Dam initiative causing a lot of controversies.
According to him it will not be wrong but rather serve the government a lot of good to explain its mistakes pertaining to the project than wanting to destroy tax payers’ money to build something just to fulfill its campaign promise.
“This government should come out boldly and tell us the truth on exactly how our money is being used on the 1Vilage, 1Dam initiative. We are bound to make mistakes as human beings; all we need is the truth,” he was speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ newspaper panel discussion segment.
His submission comes after Mavis Hawa Koomson's comments of not constructing a meaningful dam due to the budget allocated her Ministry.
“Also as a matter of fact the Minister for Special Development Initiatives should be held responsible for causing financial loss to the state,” he added.

What Okletey Terlarbi should understand is that what the minister said, does not mean a shoddy job has been done. If due to financial constrains changes has been done to the original plan at any site that does not warrant any resignation or blame. If the end-product does not serve the purpose it was meant to serve then Terlarbi has a legitimate complaint.
