General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia says Ghana may never have a President in the character and make of the late Prof. Atta Mills.
According to him, the late Mills showed class in leadership during his reign as President.
Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia programme, the NDC scribe explained that during the tenure of the late Prof. Mills as President, the country experienced a "rare wave of change in the political discourse and development".
He also "improved the infrastructure" of the country by providing many projects to especially the rural folks.
"We will continue as a party to remember the former statesman of the country who contributed selflessly to the development of the country and the youth in general," he added.
The opposition NDC, the party on whose ticket Prof. Mills stood through his political career until his death, held a wreath-laying ceremony on Wednesday at the Asomdwe Park, where he was buried, to mark seven years of his demise.

The Prof. was a good man, decent and not coprrupt. He would have been a Good President if he had belonged to Parties like NPP and CPP.
Why wouldn't NDC Sec General praise the late Atta Mills. Sec General Aseidu Nketia is talking waa-waa because Prez Fiifi gave him a position at Bui Dam construction which made him a millionaire overnight so he can afford to say what he's saying. The late Prez was too soft and didn't check his young ministers who JJ described as 'babies with sharp teeth'...those young ministers were not cut for the job and became lords and cash grabbers....
For once I agree with General mosquito. To them he was the best President ever because he allowed his ***barred word*** brigade to steal left right and centre. People like Ofosu Kwakye, Ablakwa and co became rich with no work done.
From the time PRESIDENT RAWLINGS selected him before the 2000 elections after sacking of VICE PRESIDENT ARKAAH. To the time he became President on 7th January 2009 and the demeanor and character and choosing to let MCE AND DCE to stay at post after he was sworn in and they stayed for six continuous months. That is unparalleled
The big mistake Atta Mills did was to choose Mahama as his running mate. Then he could not control his appointees who payed Woyome 52m Ghana cedis for no work done. Then to date, nobody has been bold enough to tell us what actually killed him. Pathetically, the little he did as president have been thrown into the dustbin by his party people. Even his graveyard has been left unkempt by his party lovers. He looks a sad reflection of a Ghanaian President.
The "Father of the Nation" who refused to allow those in infraction of the law to get indicted and punished? Mills who closed eye to so much evil perpetrated by John Agyekum Kufuor's government that the behavior fueled his (Mills' government's own "accentuated" corruption and set the country back so many years from which we might never recover? Mills should never have been president in the first place? No one can bring Bible into the presidency and expect to do succeed; Mills was a pastor!
Shedding the usual crocodile tears, as if they loved Mills. Since the man died, all his achievements has been credited to John Mahama as if he never existed. Now that it is his anniversary, they are saying such "nice" things about him. Members of this NDC party are either cursed with dishonesty and lies, or it is in their genes.
Mills was the one who said all that about the Great Asante Project Well he is dead and gone and the Golden Stool, the Great King and all Asante custom still remains Asante Kotoko Oseiiii Yieeeeee!!!!
Mills gave 52m judgement debts to Woyome and allows others to milk Ghana because they could sing him praise. Now he is answering to the Lord, let Ndc members who became instant millionaires keep up the lies, Ghanaians knew what they saw.
Sure, I don't ever want one like he, under whose presidency coruption flourished like mushrooms and Ghana went down, although he himself could not be tagged with one
