Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., says the upcoming sim card Re-registration exercise will be 'fruitless' and 'useless' unless the right measures are put in place.
Communication Minister, Ursula Owusu Ekuful at a press briefing Monday, said from January 2020, every Ghanaian would have to re-register their sim. This, according to her, is to clean the current registration system which has been charactersied by fraud. The exercise is scheduled to end in June 2020.
“It is quite clear that the current sim card registration regime is deficient and fraught with many challenges defeating the purpose of the sim registration,” she said.
If you may recall this is not the first time the country is embarking on such exercise after its commencement in 2010.
Speaking to this on Peace FM morning show 'Kokrokoo', Kwesi Pratt said even though he has never been against registration of sim cards, it will be useless if the country keeps spending the tax payers' money on the exercise only for it to be repeated.

Recount the number of taxes ur so called Mahama n his administration imposed on Ghanaians b4 leaving power#concertndc!
Mr. Pratt what could be the necessary measure you are talking abt, always jumping to criticize but with no clear cut solution to back ur criticism..........mtchwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kwesi Pratt, the former CPP Parliamentary Candidate, and now John Mahama's body body and the NDC's mouthpiece has spoken. If Kwesi Pratt is a man he must dare criticize John Mahama, that will be the end of his goodies. He claims he speaks for the masses but that is only when NPP is in power
Kwesi Pratt, the NDC spokesperson has spoken. He will criticize NPP 20times and criticize NDC once. When confronted as NDC spokesperson, he will refer to the one criticism to NDC to disassociate himself. But who says one cannot criticize his/her own party
@Hmmm, were we in a dictatorship Government when we understood same exercise in 2010?
so Mr. long teeth will criticise every Government policy? why, Is it out of hatred for the president?
Are we in a dictatorship, country? Only God knows where we are going.
