General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketiah says the PDS deal is the “biggest corruption scandal” in the history of Ghana and they will demand probity and accountability from the Akufo-Addo government.
He told journalists on Monday that the outcome of the PDS deal underscores NDC’s status as a credible party in the fight against corruption.
Mr Asiedu Nketiah was speaking to journalists at the NDC headquarters in Accra on the back of the termination of the concession agreement between the government and the Power Distribution Services (PDS) Ghana Limited for the management of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
The agreement was earlier suspended but government on Friday wrote to the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) to alert them of the termination of the deal. According to the NDC General Secretary, the move by the government through the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, was as a result of the diligence of the NDC after it exposed the Akufo-Addo-led government.
“Diligent as the NDC is, we had caught President Akufo-Addo pants down, the same way we caught him the the 12 million dollars Oslo Chancery deal, the bloated 800,000 website deal and the attempt to swindle Ghanaians of 800 million dollars in the Ameri Novation deal.” He said the PDS “mess” was deliberately created by the government in order to take over the GH¢22 billion assets of ECG.
“President Akufo-Addo must be forced to abandon his grand design to take over the GH¢22 billion assets of ECG for the benefit of his family and friends because it is at variance with the national interest.”

NDC is doing guess work to confuse Ghanaians in order to get them believe their corruption allegation in the PDS deal. They spew out false information with the intent of misinforming the public. They said Meridian Power Ventures was a new introduction into the deal but all along the company has part of the agreement approved by parliament.
This man paaaa. You caught who? Or he thinks we are all d*mb ha! Had it not been Nana Addo himself who suspended the deal what would the NDC have detected? Non*sense.
Asiedu Nketia, stop being a consistent l-I-ar because NDC didn't find anything about PDS, NPP did. And stop peddling falsehood because NPP has been so transparent about the PDS deal. Do you want to compare NPP with NDC s-tea-ling brigade? No way, NDC will forever go into the annals of Ghana's history of wearing the badge of C-REATE L-OOT AND S-HARE party. Th-iefs all over in that NDC party
