The main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is demanding for input from organised groups in putting together its manifesto for the 2020 election.
The party has requested groups like Civil Society organisations, Trade Unions, Associations and the general public to send their thoughts of not more than four pages to the Office of the General Secretary through the Deputy General Secretary – (Operations) or emailed to [email protected] on or before Saturday, 7th December 2019.
The move according to the biggest opposition party is to develop a ‘Peoples Manifesto’ that speaks to the direct needs and concerns of the people.
“The objective to develop a ‘Grassroots Manifesto’ driven by the need to give meaning to our social democratic principles of inclusivity and mass participation in the pursuit of growth and development of our country,” the party added in a statement signed by Peter Boamah Otokunor the Deputy General Secretary—(Operations).
All Constituency and Regional Secretariats have also been directed by the party to coordinate the preparation of local draft manifestos at the constituency level to address the peculiar needs of the masses in the various constituencies and submit same to the 2020 Manifesto Committee through the General Secretary’s Office on or before 7 December 2019.

Ghana is struggling because Politicians think they know it all and keep on deceiving us with big promises in big English. One village one Dam, One constituency one million dollars per year, one district one factory, where are these things. NDC go higher, developing a People's manifesto is the way to go. Opposition is scared hence resorting to insults and propaganda.
bankrupt of ideas, nothing new to offer but deception and trickery are their stock in trade
Indeed, the NDC took what is likely a good thing and applied it in the wrong domain - for their long populist agenda. In the end, they've betrayed their own lack of innovation. Are they not in this country with us? The worst they could do was to make some propositions of their own, engage with the "public" to shape them up. Thinking is very very difficult for the NDC. As for ORIGINAL THINKING, it is like pulling the hairs from their noses. Every year the NDC rules this nation, they take it back 10 years! What a party! NDC is a shame!
THEN NO NEED FOR THE GROUPS AND THE CSOs TO GIVE YOU IDEAS IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY. THEY SHOULD ALSO COMPETE FOR THE PRESIDENCY WITH THEIR OWN IDEAS...FUNNY MAHAMA AND THE NDC
SHAME , SHAME ,SHAME ON YOU CRIMINALS [ NDC PARTY]AND ITS MEMBERS! YOU DON'T HAVE ANY MANIFESTO. THIS MEANS, YOU PEOPLE HAVE NOTHING TO OFFER GHANAIANS. LET ME REMIND ANY BODY WHO PLAN TO VOTE FOR NDC ID++I+OTS , IS A WAIST OF VOTE! NDC PARTY WILL NEVER-NEVER COME BACK TO POWER FOR EVER AND EVER , AMEN AND AMEN !!!!
