The Gamey & Co ADR Centre has to mediate between the Electoral Commission (EC) and the opposition political parties on the proposed new voters register which has generated controversy and political tension in Ghana.
The organisation is of the view that if not handled with care and professionally, the impasse would disturb the peace and security of Ghana.
A statement issued and signed by the Chairman of Gamey & Co ADR Centre, Mr Austin Gamey said: “We offer mediation as our corporate social responsibility to mother Ghana and trust that the Electoral Commission and the concerned parties who are interested in a peaceful electoral process would accept the mediation intervention.”
It added: “As a result of the position taken by the Electoral Commission and the opposing political parties on the proposed new voters register, controversy and political tension has been generated in the country and if not handled with much care, the impasse has the potential of disturbing, the peace and security of the nation.”

MEDIATION ON WHAT? TO DO OR NOT TO DO A NEW REGISTER? THE EC IS AN INDEPENDENT BODY AND SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO WORK IN PEACE. PLEASE, IF YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE OR SUGGESTIONS, YOU CAN WRITE TO THE EC AND THEY MAY CONSIDER IT. PLEASE BE BOLD AND TELL THE NDC THEY ARE WRONG IN THEIR ACTIONS. LONG LIVE GHANA, LONG LIVE THE EC.
Austin Gamey is a dire hard NDC. He should advise the ndc to go to court.
This man is reducing issue to NDC-EC problem. What kind of logic is this? Mediation about what? Man, listen to me. EC has a job to do for Ghanaians and that does not depend on NDC's agreement. This guy is at early stages of ***barred word***. HR consultant indeed? He is attention seeker and ignore him
A former NDC minister for Employment and Social Welfare want to be mediator for what. The EC has mandate to conduct elections and all necessary processes including registration of electorates, any body has has a problem with it should go to court.
Trying to give credibility to some hooligans who are simply making noise. What do you mean by mediation? Are they quarrelling? If I say my roof is leaking and I am going to change it, will you come from outside and say I should not because you occasionally come to sleep at my house? And that the last time you slept in my house and it rained, you did not see any leakage, and so there is no need to replace the roof? Or that I should use the money for something else? And you talk of mediation. What outcome do you expect for that mediation?
why dont NDC go to court to stop the EC?
What mediation? What are you going to mediate about. a face saving for NDC? NDC can go to hell. EC will produce a new register. Majority of Ghanaians wants it. Full stop
Austin remember was PNDC/NDC minister for Employment and labour during Rawlings regime for those who do not know him. By the way what is there to negotiate? The EC says their system will crash if they do not do a new one the NDC says no way they do not want a new register. There is no middle way about this to negotiate. Austin Gammey should just talk to his former friends and let them know the EC is an independent body period.
.. when i was in primary school, Mr Austine Gamey was part of the PNDC / NDC fratenity. If he is not seeking anything for the NDC in the proposed "mediation", he could have used his skills and association with them to let them know, that's not how you work with state institutions doing their work. EC, watch out this trojan horse from Gamey and Gamey!
A step in a ring direction so that, these threat of we agree NPP we don't agree NDC will come to an amicable end for the poor Ghanaian citizen to have relative peace of mind. Thanks so Uncle AUSTIN GAMEY
