The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kpando, Dela Sowah has said the Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu must apologize to the NDC running mate, Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang for his recent comment that she lacks the capacity to serve as Vice President of the country.
In an interview with Peace FM's Parliamentary correspondent, Emmanuel Akorli, Dela Sowah said Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang is competent enough to serve as Vice President based on her background as an accomplished academician.
He, therefore, said the comments made by Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu about the NDC running mate are derogatory hence the need for an apology.
However, the Majority Leader has said in an interview today that he owes no apology to Prof Jane Naana Opoku- Agyemang, running mate of the NDC because he never made any derogatory remarks about her in a recent interview with Journalists.
According to the Majority Leader, he voiced his opinion about Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang's track record, but never made bad comments about her.
The Parliamentary Affairs Minister has said that John Mahama’s running mate, Prof Naana Opoku-Agyemang lacks what it takes to compliment her boss for the 2020 elections.
Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said although the newly elected running mate is poised, balanced, and very calm, she does not have qualities in governance to effect any change in the country.
“Don’t forget that ticket (Vice President position) is supposed to play the role of a generalist, to exhibit versatility in such a manner that when it comes to legal matters and economic matters they have some control.
“But, here is the case, former President Mahama is a communicator so he should be looking for someone who is a law-maker or a lawyer who will add value to the governance architecture,” he stated.

To govern is a serious business, not try and error. Just look at Donald Trump, he is just a walking contradiction. There are more suitable women in the ndc than the choice. The Ex-President knows the factors that went into the choice but I will not trust my future in her hands. The Majority leader express his personal opinion which everybody has, so I don't know why some people will come down on him. The ndc has always expressed their opinion on everybody and everything, so why will they go berserk with ***barred word*** language, a behaviour atavistic to an inheritance of the cave dweller. Opinions are like noses everyone has one.
He was a scrap dealer buying and selling knock down parts and accident s of accident cars and all of a sudden becoming an MP. Kennedy Agyapong described him well.
Don't mind him. How came he changed his name from Lawrence Addai to Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu? One thing I have noted about him is there is no sense in whatever be says. I wonder the calibre of MPs we have in the parliament. No wonder parliament in Ghana today has become a laughing stock judging from the contributions from some of them in some debates.
Without a cap on both nana addo and the majority leaders look like baboons yet he has the effrontery to speak so ill about our vice presidential candidate. I am not sure he looks into the mirror every morning, he wouldn't have had the guts to speak this way.
If you are afraid of death then don't sleep. What do expect me to say when this moron keeps misbehaving.
Ama be careful what you wish for others. May your evil intention and curses come back to you and your family. Are you that st*upid! Shame on you and idi0ts like you with such backward mindset.
If you believe she is competent enough to do the job why are you worried about what the majority in parliament say? Were you expecting them to come and do your difficult job of selling your vice presidential candidate for you? Grow up massa. The mam said nothing derogatory. I'm beginning to think this appointment was made with the intension to use her as a sheild aga8nat attacks and attract womem vote. You say anything about her and NDC will play the gender/woman card. Emotional blackmail. The fact is she is a prof and well done to her, great personal achievement, she is also a politician and she will be judged by her achievements and what she has done in the past, truth is she is not vice president or presidential material, no disrespect intended. For me, signing the petition for Montie 3 release was such poor judgement and weakness on her part. People like her have contributed to the level of disrespect and by heart talk in our body politics. If Amissah Arthur and President Mills both of blesses memory were suppressed and had a tough time dealing with the rascals in the party how much more Prof Opoku Agyemang? I can only wish you and your party good luck.
Don't even worry about him apologizing or not. He will join Sir join soon and when he is with him he will learn to apologize.
Shame on you. As a leader you must know how to communicate to the public. You as a graduate of Urbanization how come you a Majority Leader in Parliament of Ghana.
