Lead counsel for John Dramani Mahama in the 2020 Presidential Election Petition, Tsatsu Tsikata has taken a swipe at the Supreme Court over the judgment it delivered on the case.
The Court in a unanimous decision dismissed the petition of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2020 presidential candidate which challenged the 2020 presidential results.
Tsikata Tsikata in an interview with TV3 maintains the apex court made errors in its decisions.
“I come to a clear determination that there were errors made in the decisions and I make no bones about saying so and respectfully explaining why I say so in the manner I think I have illustrated in this discussion, not out of disrespect for the judges or trying to make fun of them, no. It is out of the importance of their role and the importance of their fidelity to the Constitution and to the law”.
He said unlike the 2012 Election Petition judgement when all the judges gave reasons for the positions they took on the main points of the case, that was not the case in the 2020 Presidential Election Petition.
“Each of the judges had a chance to articulate the reasons and to explain their point of view from a legal authority standpoint. In this last petition, I think as we all saw virtually in all the decisions, the Chief Justice will write an opinion and everybody was on board”, he said.
This, he said is a dangerous precedent.

Ghanaians should take note that Tsikata is a scam lawyer considering his own submission . As claimed to be an excellent lawyer packaged himself and a group of lawyers to supreme court to adjudicate an election petition for the year 2020. This is same blamed judges when he caused financial loss to the state and was subsequently jailed . Mr.Tsikata and his empty NDC proceeded to court without an empirical evidence on 2020 elections petition and same character wants the court to rule in his favor why? Now, lets understand duo , who is a lawyer and who is a judge? , what is court ? what is evidence in court? Unfortunately for Mr. Tsikata ,2020 election was broadcast live on TV and every Ghanaian have the watching opportunity so NDC and their Mr. know all Tsikata should tells us where were the errors recorded during hearing after his witness in chief Mr. Asiedu Nketial told the whole world that they did not come court to challenger the results but rather disgracing the electoral commissioner .In his carrier of practicing where did he Tsikata witnesses such a ***barred word*** and shallow evidence to support won the case . I am expecting you to blame your unprepared witnesses rather than blaming the judges . You are found of blaming judges unnecessarily with a shrilled of evidence and again expecting judges to rule for your favor which can never happens because go to court convincing evidence not tea drinking .
Wonders shall never end, you went to court without evidence, and you see yourself that you’re right and the Judges who ought to rule the case based on your own evidence provided in court are wrong? Hmm, is this what has made your party people think you are a genius in law?

I'm a layman and not a lawyer. For me, the whole petition as it was presented in court had no merit, period! the Petitioners failed to provide enough evidence to make a case. Hence, the petitioners should rather be grateful to the court for granting them the etiquette, at least, to listen to them. Indeed, out of etiquette, if somebody is telling you a ridiculous story or all that may have the earmarks of being a big lie, do not for your best interest give him a suspicious look as much as to say I know you are lying to me. I guess. this is how the court handled the case, with due respect to Mr. Tsikata.
