A Communication team member of the Convention People's Party (CPP), Sylvester Soprano Sarpong has applauded the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare for interdicting three police officers after some students of the Islamic Senior High School in Kumasi got injured following a protest.
The officers: the acting Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kwasi Akomeah-Apraku, ACP George Ankomah, the Regional Operations Officer; and ACP Alex Cudjoe Acquah, the Suame Divisional Police Commander were interdicted over their management of the chaotic scenes.
A statement by the Police says their interdiction is to make way for a thorough investigation into the incident.
Reacting to this, Soprano said IGP Dampare has proven that he has qualities that President Akufo-Addo doesn't have.
According to him, if the President had the boldness to also reshuffle his appointees, they will work diligently.
"Dampare is exhibiting qualities President Akufo-Addo should be having…for instance, President Akufo-Addo has never done any reshuffle and things are getting worst. They (appointees) know they won't be removed so they do anything they want. So Dampare should keep it up. He’s proven that he has the qualities Akufo-Addo doesn't have..." he said on Neat FM's Me Man Nti programme.

My brother, say it again . As for reshuffle you don't need parliamentary approval, you don't need a referendum, you don't need any law to be passed to enable you do that, this one too Akuffo Addo can't do. Close to six years we have Defence, interior, foreign affairs, trade, agriculture, finance, roads, national security, transport with same ministers running. None of them have anything new to offer their ministries. No wonder some NPP stalwarts are saying the current NPP is not the NPP they know. Kufour's elephant had big ears and listened a lot, the Akuffo Addo elephant equally have big ears, unfortunately it doesn't listen, at best it will hear but won't listen. The result is out current predicament. Assembly common fund, Getfund, roadfund, NHIS fund, all in arrears. The interesting thing is that monies into some of these funds are paid in advance through VAT and yet government can't honour it's obligations. 'Ye ti sika su, ensu ekom diya'. We are sitting on money and yet we are hungry. A country that is happy to have discovered crude oil in commercial quantities ,hmmmm, Ghana's oil discovery, a blessing or a curse. A Fulani man who claims to have cattle but still goes to the market to buy cow milk to feed his family. 30 million people with gold, bauxite, cocoa, cashew, sheanuts, manganese, crude oil, 2 sea ports i.e. Tema and Takooradi, vast arable lands, 2 rainy seasons in some parts, unfortunately they don't have a leader with a vision to turn things around for the better. Leaders who lie in between their teeth 24/7 and when they are caught they blame it on external forces. 'Two twin brothers' short changing Ghana. A country where politicians represent themselves instead of the people. A country where people kneel to beg to be president and when they get it, it's all about their tribesmen, a few boot lickers and womanizing about. God save Ghana.
